That is because all the 55-year-old mechanicals have been stripped out and replaced by better Porsche parts. There really isn't much left of the original car but the frame and some flared body panels. That paint is not 55 years old. That interior is not 55 years old.

Great 1969 911S ! I think the Porsche flares, wider rims, suspension & brake upgrades are perfect - although I admit, the car is in the family for several decades - if I had it when it was still original decades ago, I probably would have done the 930 style mechanical updates & leave it more original cosmetically, maybe sitting up 1 inch higher. 👍👏☝️💪💪💪 This also brings me back to when I was in autocross (was also called gymkhana back then) 1977 to 1980, with my 71 Opel Manta coupe - was always great to see the original 1960s-70s 911 cars come to the events, especially the PCA events; and working at a VW Porsche shop summers 1976-78.

Jay is one of the last few of my generation with the love of all things automotive and the passion for everything mechanical. So many just see the beauty of automobile design from the curb. The old guys like us notice the beauty of everything from the paint job and flares. We see the beauty and thought of the old engineers in something simple like the bolt and clamp holding the ignition coil on that old original beetle.
