Really good video and that thing is a beast. I think a black box is a great idea. And Corey is a cool cat who knows his stuff. Well done.

Is this a lot more expensive to mass-produce compared to the humvee? for example i know taiwan has 5000+ humvees it wants to replace but cancelled its order of even a mere 300 JLTV because of the expense.
@deansmits0062 жыл бұрын
It's hard to compare because this is just so much more than the humvee is. Modern amenities are now complex and more expensive, yes. But it is more capable, and much more survivable. It's capability far surpasses, so it's more expensive than humvee.

Replacing the obsolete HMMWV which was never intended for direct combat is many years and many casualties overdue. GWOT advanced the design of "armored cars" with combat experience so it's time to put that to work. To survive JLTV will require organic anti-drone systems and those don't exist at scale yet.

@@roderickcampbell2105 the us is dumping a lot of money on arms... War is business that is the modern world... Us has to sell arms to other countries to make money.... F35 is the best fighter plane on earth no competition... But if you keep it to yourself you cannot compensate all the money spent to develop it...and all that only until China or other countries develop a clone or an even better one... When you create something u sell it then u use that money to develop a better product...that's how it works

Meh... Most of the equipment the US Army fields isn't exactly "cutting edge tech" like what the US Airforce fields. It's just really good conventional tech. US Army stuff is however is rather pricey compared to other alternatives and logistically difficult to support in the numbers that it does, which is why they don't care to show it off like in this video since only the USA has both the money and the logistical capabilities to field these at the numbers they do. The info for this stuff is available because the DoD knows not even the likes of China can afford to equip it's common infantry soldiers with this kind of vehicle nor does it have the built up institutional know how to do so effectively.

After seeing how easy tanks and the Orcs version of this, the Tigr are taken out... Also I don't believe this is any more survivable than a Humvee, where's the V shaped hull? 20 years learned nothing.
@rubenesparza75462 жыл бұрын
It has a modified v hull in place, as it is a utility vehicle and not a mine clearance or heavy armored vehicle. Remember that this vehicle, as well as the hummvee were never designed to be heavy or direct action vehicles, but utility and transport trucks first and foremost. With that said, we’ll still use them for direct combat but we’ve always understood that once engaged, you dismount and engage on foot

The JLTV sucks. The fuel nozzle is in the BII box, tarting it is a long and complicated process, and they didn't make room for chow, water, or AMMO! The solution is to use a trailer. Have you ever drove in Afghanistan with a trailer? Not exactly ready to make combat maneuvers
