At 3:19 the rear wheel steering is obvious. Might have been worth mentioning.

So it’s an armoured truck. Why can’t people describe it as an armoured truck?
@pandaDotDragon4 жыл бұрын
because it's expensive ^^'

If it was American, it would be "All-terrain armoured logistic support vehicle - heavy" or ATALSH for short.

Because in that case you couldn't sell it for a price of a MB Tank.

Ya I don't no why some manufacturers can't make it that simple, animal for land equipment, fish names for sea equipment and birds after aircraft... maybe they want to seem complicated and sophisticated
@fivenine59054 жыл бұрын
@@wanjevi UK is typically weather events for aircraft. (spitfire's first name was the shrew, but was changed as it wasnt agressive enough for war time). main battle tanks start with C. helicopters.... Lynx.... Gazelle. i think they just pick a rough subject and role with it in the UK. but would make more sense like you say

First "Eagles" were armored reconnaissance vehicles (Humvees). They are/were the eyes of the commanders. That's the reason they are called Eagles. By the way, English pronounced "eagle" sounds exactly the same as the German word "Igel", which means hedgehog. Some guys in the army regularly mixed it up 😉

Funny how they mention "the Swiss" like a unknown entity while the vehicles actually come from there.
@karlp84844 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the Swiss bought a Mowag armoured truck. Go figure.

Which is now owned by a division of an American company, General Dynamics. So, just like automobiles, components come from all over the world.

@pipmill70764 жыл бұрын
I think the key word was NATO. It's ok for uk to have our 8×8 boxers with modular and is a really good vehicle . It is also very wise to have purpose built vehicles that are dedicated to a specific role. 👍

Are the British incapable of equiping their armed forces? Used to be world leaders leaders.
@Weakeyedominant4 жыл бұрын
Just incompetant governments and generals constantly changing their requirements until armoured vehicle manufacturing all but died in the UK. Now its all foreign owned with BAE making its vehicles in Sweden.
