Joe is wrong to say this sound of R&B isn't working for artist. 6lack, Brent, Bleu, Bryson all sold more music than traditional R&B singers like Lucky Daye, Tank, Jazzmine, HER ect. This sound works. No one is listening to ballads anymore sadly. It's all Drake's fault more than anything.
@kingtaylor9362
@kingtaylor9362 2 жыл бұрын
The main thing Joe is saying is that’s it’s lazy and not well thought out let alone sung well. Most of the artist you mentioned besides Brent, can actually SING and that is a major key. This sound is really for those who can only hit 1-2 specific notes… such as a drake.
@mickey10jb80
@mickey10jb80 2 жыл бұрын
I think it's cool to have the new R&B lane but a LOT of people miss the more traditional lane which has people that can sing sing. The new lane is basically getting away from actual singing. I believe valuing vocals will eventually make it's way back into being popular.
@Musa-ut6ce
@Musa-ut6ce 2 жыл бұрын
@@kingtaylor9362 Bryson, bleu 6lack aren't in the same realm of vocal range as your Tank, Lucky Daye or even Daniel from Dvsn. These are guys who are amazing song writers and can hold a note or 2. These are people who would traditionally be the ghost writers, like Rico Nasty or The Dream. People who have 1 of 2 notes in their pocket but can't really sing-sing. Drake made it possible for them to exist and thrive through song writing and cadence more than vocal range, which is why I say it's his fault they exist
@Musa-ut6ce
@Musa-ut6ce 2 жыл бұрын
@@mickey10jb80 I think the numbers show otherwise. Brent sold 5x what Tank sells in his first week. Lol people don't want to hear ballads sadly.
@mickey10jb80
@mickey10jb80 2 жыл бұрын
@@Musa-ut6ce but those aren't R&b fans. It's like when a rapper/singer goes pop. They gain a lot of fans that don't traditionally listen to their original genre. Music changes and goes through stages. I think people will eventually start to value vocals again. It will be considered a "new sound" 😂 but it will make it's rounds again.

I think I agree with Joe when it comes to men learning how to love. Firstly, it's obvious that in any type a relationship(work/romantic/friendship) that people need to learn how to deal with each other. Learning how different people react to certain situations is a key component of being an adult. Joe was specifically discussing about how to LOVE your partner. The development of emotional intelligence is highly focused on when people raised their daughters. It doesn't take them any time at all for a woman to see how she needs to love a particular man and adapt. The emotional intelligence of men is almost completely ignored in boys. Most of us don't forced to develop it after through some sh*t as a adult. And unfortunately if usually falls to one of our girlfriends to educate us.
