In today's lesson, I'm going to show you how to play another easy 3-chord song: "The Joker" by Steve Miller Band. This iconic 70's rock song is great for singing around the campfire and I'm going to show you not only how to strum the chords but also how to play that famous bassline. On top of that, I'm going to show you how to combine the bassline with the chords to make a chord melody.

The lesson begins with the chords, which are really simple. It's just a 3-chord song: G, C and D. We practice strumming them with down-strokes only, just to work out the switches, and then we take a look at a strumming pattern which is quite straightforward.
After working out the chords and strumming, it's time to take a look at that iconic bassline! It's actually quite simple when you break it down, which is exactly what we do. We practice it together nice and slow.
Finally, we learn how to combine the cords and bass to make a very interesting rhythm guitar part that is sure to turn heads.
Enjoy!
