My dearly departed brother ....8 years my senior, enlightened me to E.W.F. in the early 70s when I was 10 years old. The mellow and harmonious "Think about loving you" and the funk inspired "Everything is Everything " with horns blaring were my favorites from their "Last Days and Time" album. When I heard that ....I was hooked. Been listening to them ever since. Peace and love.🎶🎶🎶

I’m a girl from Germany, started listening to earth wind &fire in the early 70’s. That musics did something to me. I was mesmerized. I was trying to find out as much as I could about this group. Remember, there was no internet or social media. Then they came to Germany as the open band for Santana and with a little trickery I was able to meet Maurice face to face. Years later when I had a child I had to name him Maurice! Still love this group, best music ever! I’m 67 now.

Two KEY factors not mentioned in this beautiful video of the Mighty Elements, 1. The Salty Peppers was their original name.. 2. The EWF sound we all know and love didn't appear in it's full glory until Producer Charles Stepney started producing their material, before that they didn't really stand out sonically...God Bless brother Maurice White a truly gifted soul🙏🏿👑🕊️
@TBUniversalGroup. Жыл бұрын
I appreciate your response. This documentary on EWF for the person who did their research seems to have started with EWF journey without mentioning their generic name as the Salty Peppers. I agree with you it wasn't until the "Spirit" album that fire truly came within the elements. Though their "That's The Way of World" album open eyes and ears to their sound with their only #1 single "Shining Star" Charles Stepney added the anointing that took their music to another level. Following Charles Stepney death, in my opinion his spirit remained on the development of their music and always had a message of love, hope, and words of inspiration that has impacted the world through the power of music.

Maurice White was indeed a musical Genius!!! He was truly ahead of his time in both musical song writings and production of his own music and musical ideas. The songs he wrote and produced was true artistry. Prolific in everyway with spiritual meaning in the songs sung by Earth Wind & Fire was truly ahead of it's time. Maurice White is no longer with us but he left with us a rich treasure of great music. May his music continues to touch future generations to enjoy. Like his mom once said, to him growing up. "The world will listen to you and they will know your name." May he rest in God's loving arms. Thank Mr. Maurice White, for the vision in helping us to see the vision of what we can be. " You Are A Shining Star" Love & Peace. We Love you Mr. Maurice White. Thank you for the gift of music!!! 🎶 😊❤

I loved EWF from the very beginning. Head to the sky and Evil! The "Open Our Eyes album" with Mighty Mighty, came out when I was in 11th grade. When That's the Way of the World came out, I rushed to the record store to buy it. I was so excited to get home to play it, I got in a car accident! I wasn't injured and my 1956 Chevrolet was undamaged. I still rushed home, opened it, placed it on the turntable, and loved every song! I still do to this day! Their most underrated song? Runnin' 1977. I also loved their interludes! Thank you

As a youngster in High School in 1973 and 74 I remember being Spellbound by the "Signature Sound" of Earth,Wind and Fire. Their "All In All" Album was like an Encyclopedia of Spiritual Energy to me and my Peers. So much So that on two separate occasions we Chartered a Bus to go see them at Madison Square Garden in the Heart of NYC and also another time at The Long Island Coliseum. Over the years I have seen them several times throughout both East Coast and West Coast. They have never waivered from their "Signature Sound" or Elocution. Hi @dalerandall1872 I appreciate you checking out my channel. Yeah, the impact EWF had on us is factual, many of the songs we listened to did the job with lifting us up, giving us hope, and believing things would change for the better. I love the fact it was all based-on faith without restraints, without preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. Though, you could tell there was plenty of Biblical overtones in his lyrics and usage of Hammond B3 organ, which most churches used. Hi Lance, I appreciate you checking out my channel. I would say EWF was right on time with their music. Maurice White had a message to share with the world through a divine vision I believe was from God. Whether or not he was a believer in the gospel Jesus Christ, is a whole other subject matter. But what I do know his messages in the majority of his songs expressed love, hope, and a sense of peace within our own spirit to believe in yourself and has managed to be timeless as we continue to listen the music, he left us with to enjoy.

For those who have researched his private life, let it be known if it's the truth. One thing is certain, the music he left the world is a message of love, hope and peace that will live on forever. Many of us, fall short of what we put in books, written words, or on audio performances. Living this earthly life is no dress rehearsal. It's always live. Maurice White had more than 3 Children----- He had at least 3 or 4 other children out of wedlock with other women. One of those children is a very well-known actor. This is a sanitized summary of his life.

@RonaldWilliams-qh7zc I appreciate you checking out my channel. You are absolutely right, EWF was the only R&B act with disappearing on stage. Michael Jackson is the other artist who copied EWF, with MJ using disappearing acts with his live performances. Jackson used TomTom 84 horn arrangements, that Maurice White created with his horn riffs. I appreciate you sharing your comments.

EW&F were sooo awesome I have seen them at least 3 times and it is so amazing. I have been in many spaces with the now trio and I thought Verdine was going to open a music school for youth....i need to check on that !!! I am going to watch this again.❤

@toribailey8328 I appreciate you checking out my channel. I'd recommend if you can find some of their live shows (videos) in 70's and 80's in their prime for sure you would definitely enjoy and appreciate their craft for certain. Polished and all the theatrics made their shows all that and some, don't get me wrong, back then ticket prices were what they were. Today's recording artist tickets are too overpriced and most live performances are not as entertaining as they once were with supergroups such as EWF and what Micheal Jackson brought to the table when it came live entertainment.

One thing I believe we can agree on is Maurice White was born and he followed his dream and used his God given gifts of his voice, love for music and creative talent that was in his spirit. Without preaching Jesus and the sharing the gospel message of salvation, Maurice did display the love of God through many of his songs which has inspired generations of people all around the world. He was truly a gift and was used by God to show love and touch the lives of many. Through the power of music, he lives on!

Jessica Cleaves had a beautiful voice one of my favorite songs by her is I'd rather have you..and her son was an All American basketball player from Michigan State... One other great song by her is when she was with the Friends of Distinction...I really hope you do...

Maurice White was born in Memphis Tennessee...the original name, ancient BLACK people called ONE of their largest cities in AFRIKA was Memphis/KEMET. today called Cairo/Egypt. and Maurice would put A LOT of those ancient Afrikan Kemetic/Egyptian symbols, ALL over those EW&F albums. I DON'T THINK NONE of that was a coincidence in Reese life.

Hello @mysticakhenaton1701, you are right on point with Maurice White and his album covers. The pyramids on the Spirit cover to their Raise cover shows Egyptian statue images, I would think he had a thorough knowledge and understanding of what he was presenting through artistry artwork and music. He combined both and made a difference in the world. I appreciate you checking out my channel.

Maurice White and the other songwriters definitely had an connection when laying down all the tracks that made "After the Love is Gone" an elevator and soft easy listening vibe.

@haywardmccullough2762, I appreciate you checking out my channel. One thing I loved about Maurice White is that he did not get caught up in the Hollywood glitter with exposing his lifestyle. It's a mystery to many of us, except those who knew him personally. I understand he has an autobiography which I plan to buy; to read how much of his personal life he reveals. I like your comment. I just posted a new video by Varges Thomas "Go Out The Way" share your thoughts.
