Okay, I strongly agree about the nature of therapy and how it completely fails to address the core issue. And Christianity, when poorly interpreted (which is most often the case), is certainly prone to the error of teaching that you have to change. However, Christianity properly interpreted IS non-duality. "I and the father are one" is about as non-dual as it gets. See, the way Jesus teaches is very clever. He finds phrasings that mean one thing to people at a certain level, and mean a different thing to people at a different level. Here's an example: "For I tell you truly, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single jot, not a stroke of a pen, will disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. So then, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do likewise will be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever practices and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven." "Until Heaven and Earth pass away" means: the duality of Heaven vs. Earth will cease to exist. "Until everything is accomplished" contextualizes differently when you recognize that everything already is accomplished. Being called great or least in the Kingdom of Heaven would be interpreted by most as 'I need to behave a certain way to get the reward at the end'. People at that level of understanding need something of a moral framework based on where they are at in spiritual evolution. However, a more sophisticated understanding of the quote is this: there is no rank in Heaven. I mean...duh! Seriously, think about it for a moment. There's no rank in perfection ; you can't have more Peace than Peace ; you can't be more one with God than one with God. It's not the case that in heaven one person gets the penthouse suite whereas another person gets the room next to the noisy ice machine. There is no greater or lesser in Heaven. When you realize that, you realize that the correct understanding is that you can follow anywhere between zero and all of the commands, and you still get Heaven. You're not being asked to do anything other than be what you are. Is this comprehensible? This style of teaching reflects Jesus' sense of humor, which is a characteristic most often lost or ignored by modern day interpretations of his teachings. I don't care if you want to accept Jesus as God Manifest or not, but at least have some respect for him as a spiritual teacher. He was teaching Non-Duality two thousand years ago! And he knew how to disguise it so that only those who have ears to hear will hear. No one has pulled off the teaching style of Jesus even remotely close to his degree of mastery. If you're seeing it the way modern day Christianity sees it, then its on you for not putting it together at the deeper level that is there. See, religion and the old testament and Revelation (which is utterly fallacious) are one thing ; the actual teachings of JESUS CHRIST himself are another thing. You learn from the enlightened teacher, not from the unenlightened interpretation of that teacher by others. What Jesus taught has been so distorted precisely because it contains incredibly deep truth, and truth is always attacked, yes? The more truth and the more power, the more enemies of truth come out of the woodwork to attack it. Jesus represents the absolute maximum of truth, and therefore he is the most maligned, misunderstood, misinterpreted, and mistreated. Jesus was crucified for telling the truth at a time when falsehood was the prevailing level of consciousness on Earth. So, maybe we can show just a little respect for him as a teacher, yes?

Listening to this reminds me of when I was at school and I used to cover my hand in glue just to enjoy the experience of peeling the stuff off when it’s dried. I do wonder with narratives that separate are better off being looked at as useful tools to help us grasp reality instead of being worried that they’re ruining how someone perceives reality (certainly can cause confusion), but also I feel the soul wants to experience separation and difference just so it can experience joy (if all you knew was heaven you wouldn’t recognize it as heaven). As for seeking maybe it’s a collective process we are going through, the more one learns about anything it adds to the collective imagination and wonders of the world. At the end of the day are you having a good time.

@@anj000 It is pleasing to my aesthetic sensibility. My initial reason for using the “cartoon” filter was that it seemed a metaphorical way to mock the extreme leftists. To see them in cartoon format seemed a subtle way of trolling them. But as not all the videos feature the leftists, but people commenting on the leftists, I have continued to use the filter. There is joy in being Nothing...that is in being No thing. This is because we are not merely objects as society and culture condition us to believe, we are subjects...we are Being itself. Yet, we are individuating and evolving Soul entities...so we are indeed somebody. Every Soul is a Sacred expression of the Divine. Our Sacred Selfhood and personhood must be honored and integrated. This is the path of Soul Realization. One is a sacred Individual entity but is not separated from the Whole. We exist and have our Being in Being itself. This is the non dual realization. The biggest error and mistake I see on KZbin and internet forums is the spiritual bypass. People go for a merely mental representation and understanding of non dual states of consciousness, before they do the decades long, arduous work of integrating and unifying at the Soul level. The spiritual bypass is a delusion. There is the One and the Many and together they are the Absolute Oneness.

Bit over the top i think, as everything has a certain energetic quality, that's why you can separate the lambo from the marmalade, and evolutionarily without your effort you interpret many things male & female for example, and the same with dreaming, & the same with looking at an object you have to create a narrative of its use to use it, so i think this has some truth but mostly beliving a truth but a un flavoured truth thats therefore not the full truth as it excludes many wonders of mind in an aware diet & fashion, so without these others beautys of mind it comes off as a self perpetuating delusion of truth that's not in a wholeness of minds possibilities that is neglecting the creative faculties, when life is much more Wonderful than excluding all this & engaging is what this is all about just in healthy flavours & appreciations & things you want to correspond with and emerge with, but we don't have to take it to a place where your non relatable to anyone & it's lovely engaging in many fantastic wonders as long as we are aware & oriented before hand and mostly stay in the essence of immediacy but all whilst having a more flavourful atmosphere of thinking, & as well, your instincts are still there without your effort & trying to make the lady laugh is a unconscious longing for reaction to you or laughing is because you want a corresponding energetic response, and so your retreating from engagement which is apart of the great inventive spirit of man and the beautiful extensions of innovations and laws of mind, mind has made, tools of imganation we can use to are advantage. some of this has resonance, but it's mostly over the top & leads to a unhealthy division, as there is little harmonious Connectivity with nature as a corresponding perception of awe and beauty, & a unappealing attitude towards creativity & life and the indulgence of creativity & missing all the juice of life and fun and friendly connections on a human level, without trying to seem all far out, as it comes off as some what morally superior a cockiness of sorts.

On the next episode of Neo Advaita, M.D. … Billy: Hey Doc, I’m experiencing agonizing pain in my abdomen and a high fever. I’m afraid my appendix has burst. I’m about 20 minutes from the hospital. Should I call an ambulance? Neo: Well, Billy, time and space don’t actually exist. Also, there is no “you” and there’s no free will. So there’s no-thing “you” can do. Things are just apparently happening to no-one. The seeker wants to realize health, but the only thing to realize is that there’s no-thing to realize. Pain and no pain, health and disease, life and death, these are all merely dualistic stories. The whole idea of healthcare procedures is that “you” need to change, and actually it’s a futile process. It’s just about making the prison more comfortable. There’s just this. Oneness is no-thing apparently appearing as everything. What else could it possibly be? … Hello? Billy? Are you still on the line? Hello? On one hand, Neo’s morbidity and mortality rates would go through the roof. On the other hand, his healthcare expenditures would plummet (if you believe in the “story” of cause and effect, that is.) So there’s that. Will Neo get fired, or will he be promoted to director of the hospital? Tune in to find out. 😉

I can't help but feel that Tony has done untold damage to people who have reached out and sincerely want to know how this all works, it's a pity. He's right on the diagnosis, but not on the prognosis. The problem of being separate is addressed through integrative practices. It's true that they don't consist of "someone doing something", but that doesn't make them any less effective. Daoism has long understood that enlightenment is a psycho-physical process that can be systematically addressed and cultivated. This is supported now by developmental psychology and neuroscience. No need to create mystery where there is none, or leave people without knowing what to do.

He has huge energy around him, and a mischievous way of talking - all very appealing, and I did gain Some Benefit. But not enough for all the years spent on "neoadvaita", as it is called. I needed emotional healing too. Tony tends to dismiss that kind of thing; it's not part of his life story; but I'm told you can gave lively discussions with him about cars! Expensive cars, I'm guessing ... lol

@@sohara.... Well, from “his” perspective, there is nothing “you” or anyone else can do. If you believe that then there is nothing to do. I believe it to be true based upon my own experience, but at the same time, all of these prominent non-dual teachers were initially obsessed with trying every type of mediation and practice to awaken and I believe they SHOULD emphasize that for others as well. I don’t think that they could have “arrived” at their “enlightenment” without first having made considerable effort, however illusory the effort of the ego ultimately is. I hope that is helpful.
@meditationamsterdam Жыл бұрын

Non-duality is a myth! You cannot avoid separation: duality; we live in a world of opposites, so the lofty ideas of ‘Oneness’ or the ‘Absolute’ that came from the warped thinking of the ancient ‘acid heads’, is a total and complete oxymoron in terms! A graduated psychologist would simply be reminded of this as being another form of dissociation from the harsh and often brutal realities of living.

Thanks for your thoughtful reply. You may be right. You may also be wrong. It may not be realizable, and yet it is undeniable. There is nothing you can do to achieve unity, nor nothing you can do to not be in unity. Everything you are was inherited from someone or somewhere else. The idea that a seperate you exists is subtle but obvious. You need a man like this to remind you of that. But again, in fairness to your point, you may be right.
