The Judds Have Mercy

"Have Mercy" is a song written by Paul Kennerley, and recorded by American country music duo The Judds. It was released in September 1985 as the first single from the album Rockin' with the Rhythm. "Have Mercy" was The Judds' fifth number one on the country chart. The single went to number one for two weeks and spent a total of fourteen weeks on the country chart.

Watching these women their entire careers, these are my favorite moments. Wynonna’s Elvis Presley movements and vibes were my favorite as a kid. She was absolutely beautiful, her voice was amazing and she had those little moves, those facial expressions were gold!!!❤❤❤

I saw the Judds live at the Michigan State Fair in Detroit in the 80's and they sang this song along with other great hits at the Band Stand. My mom really loved them too! They was a lot of standing room fans for they were great. Thanks for sharing.

OMG!! Gorgeous!! I love the shade of color both in Naomi's and in Wynonna's hair! Their dresses are beautiful. Wynonna, your make up is so soft and natural looking and your eye make-up shade is so lovely!! Happens to be my favorite color (It's the same color as my birthstone Amethyst) Purple! Do you remember the actor John Stamos when he was on the TV show "Full House" and every time he saw a beautiful woman, he said "Have Mercy!" That just popped into my head while watching this video! I just love The Judds and what they're all about! 💖💖

On this day in 1985 {December 29th} "Have Mercy" by The Judds was in its second of two weeks at #1 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart... "Have Mercy" was #1 for two weeks, and then for the next 50 weeks there was a different record each week at #1... Between 1983 and 2000 the Ashland, Kentucky mother and daughter duo had twenty-four records on the Hot Country Singles chart, twenty made the Top 10 with fourteen* reaching the #1 position... * They just missed having a fifteen #1 record when their "Give A Little Love" peaked at #2 {for 2 weeks} on August 21st, 1988, the two records that kept it out of the top spot were "The Wanderer" by Eddie Rabbit and "I Couldn't Leave You If I Tried" by Rodney Crowell...

Aren’t you glad she didn’t? There were many times when Wynonna could’ve sang alone, but she also really suffered a lack of confidence and stage fright in the early years. Naomi gave her the courage to get out there and sing.
