I remember watching episodes of The Judge when I was a teenager at that time. And even though it was not real (meaning staged) at that time it gave us a lot of life lessons that most of the reality shows do not provide or even give us as of right now. So all in all this is a good show.

I used to watch this when I was in elementary school in the 80’s. I always found the opening theme to be uplifting. I remembered the music note for note all of these years despite not hearing it since maybe the very early 90’s. Great to see this show on KZbin, thank you for uploading.

Oh wow, I remember watching this on WPIX (when it was on channel 11 on local cable) and on USA network along with DIvorce Court, and Superior Court. This was a very tense episode. Still, I hope that there are other eposides of those shows that will pop up

Lewis the bailiff was very brave, and smart as were the lawyers. Things would have been worse if Patrick was able set that bomb off. Judge Franklin is a very fortunate man to have Lewis as bailiff.

I love this series! I remember seeing this as a child and this episode freaking me out because I thought these court shows were real even though they always reminded us in the beginning that these were dramatizations (though at the time I didn't know what the word meant).

Just realized something else: The guy who plays Alan, the dad, is Danny Goldman. He was a voice over actor (The Smurfs) and was the student in Young Frankenstein who asks Frederick questions. Sadly, he died a few months ago. RIP Clark.

Just thought of something new: When Judge Franklin says, "If you shoot him, you'll be a murderer," that isn't necessarily true. He would be that if he killed Keith only. When he did that to Louis later, that is attempted murder, since Louis didn't die. Bad writing, I guess. I mentioned similar stuff to Jerry Prell, who played Hellman awhile back.

I never saw it originally, glad ravvj put it up here years ago. I knew they were going to get their asses out of it though, I just wanted to see how since it seemed so exciting with a bomb in there and a madman. We even saw him in the trailer fire the gun at Lewis and I thought then, "He's dead." He had left the show eventually.

I did say this courthouse had bad security. Maybe they didn't have baggage scanners and metal detectors in the 80's, or he built it after bringing in the stuff to the courthouse. To your other question: Patrick had a bomb. He wasn't going to chance it. And remember, he looks at Franklin after Patrick tells him to hand over his gun and Franklin nods, like he should wait it out.

Jeez, I thought I was the only one who remembered this show! Divorce Court, Superior Court, and this one. I was hooked on courtroom dramas and I was an absolute L.A. Law freak! Speaking of which, the guy playing the bomber is the same guy who robbed Stuart and Ann on L.A. Law at gunpoint, and then tried to sell them back the ring he took from Ann after he was acquitted. I think he also might have played in the movie Freejack as well.

Wow! You are Bang On!! His name was Eddie. He made some comment to the father that "This isn't over yet!" Then the father blasted him in the hall. I remember that episode vividly. I had a feeling something was gonna happen...because at the starting of the episode, they showed the gun in his pants. Judge Franklin was really upset to see the kid get blasted...even though he didn't like him in the trial.

"Have you ever been to prison, judge?" Mr. Casey, the judge's been a law-abiding citizen. He's only seen the inside of a prison from the *outside*, unlike you. The reason he sent you there was because you committed a serious crime. It wasn't a misdemeanor. And while misdemeanors *are* crimes, what *YOU* did was far more serious than you might think.

My latest thought: Patrick should've done this when Hellman screwed up. He should've said, "Bring them up here. Where did you get your law license-out of a crackerjack box?" He then puts them in the right order and gives them to Hellman and says, "Now go back and get it right, nerd."

I remember that episode too. The kid's name was Eddie and the father's daughter's name was Holly. He brought this small pistol into the courtroom, but didn't use until the end when Eddie made some comment to him and started to walk away. Then he shot twice, killing the bastard. The episode I was talking about had to do with an Irish father who wanted to see his son. He belongs to the IRA and decides to hold up the courtroom with a gun and steal his son Patrick.

It ended up being enough to teach the boy who claimed he was innocent a lesson. Never to even go to jail.Never cause trouble again. In fact watch towards the end at 18:45 you'll hear what he has to say to not only the boy but his dad as well as the people who were there.

It wasn't that. It was to admit he did a bad thing and not deny it. Then he could start to turn his life around. Patrick never did that and in jail he kept denying the truth so when he got out, all he had on his mind was revenge.

And Franklin got to live more than just 'another 2 minutes'...he got to live for the rest of his life, and so did everyone else. Casey, on the other hand, got to spend 'another 2 minutes' confined to a mental facility. Mr. Casey, Judge Franklin had every reason to send you to the slammer, and he didn't *want* to, but if he *hadn't*... Who knows what lessons you would've learned!

I remember this show. One episode I remember in particular was about this boy named Wally that was mentally handicapped. At one point when he got called to the stand, he got so scared he started threating to beat up everyone including the judge but the judge didn't hold it against him because of his condition. Nope.. unlike The People's Court, The Judge involved family court cases, while People's Court involved small claims cases. In addition, The People's Court had real litigants and real cases.

Here's one more comment: I remember that prosecutor character. He was in love with this defense attorney who would always interrupt on cross examination the witnesses' answers, which does not happen in real life. Judge Franklin married them, they had a son, and asked Franklin to be the kid's godfather.
