This is a case that would never happen in real life. First, even though it is legal for an attorney to represent his or parents, not many of them would do it, especially in a case where their own sister is the plaintiff. Second, there is no legal basis to require a parent to pay for their child to attend college, even if they were able to do so.

Haven't watched the full video yet but it stated in the begining that she was a minor still. She still legally had the right to an education.

I agree, a lot of attorneys would see it as a conflict of interest. As far as a parent paying for college, they aren't legally required to especially if their son/daughter is of the age of maturity. There may be a moral obligation but not that says a parent MUST pay for this. I'm no legal expert but the only way I could see this happening under the same circumstances is if the son/daughter was under the age of maturity and petitioned to be emancipated so they could attend college against the wishes of their parents.
