The Wishing Thorn pattern is beautiful. I would change the light colors to something you like on that linen. It is amazing how different the floss will look on different fabrics. I’m having an issue with one by The Scarlet Letter as well. I’ve decided to change the linen to something darker so both the light threads and dark threads will show. I love your personalized motif sampler! That’s a great idea. Your Rocking Horse Holiday is gorgeous! I love your colors. That’s what I was thinking of doing. The stamp Christmas ornaments are adorable.

Hi, Christine, Thank you so much for your suggestions regarding Harriet Charlesworth, I like that idea to try different floss colors. I have enjoyed the personalized motif sampler. I was so excited to see you are planning on stitching the Rocking Horse Holiday…I had the chart for a year before I started it 😉Love the little ornaments! Thank you for watching and commenting!😊

It was my first time watching, and I just love all your stitching! I've never done a HATS either, and it's one of my goals this year. I definitely added lots to my list of wants! Loved the scripture! The wedding pictures are beautiful! Your daughter is gorgeous! Thank you for a lovely video!

Since Harriet chose Christmas colors such as red, green and gold, I bet the silver star in the corner represents the star over Bethlehem.

I loved seeing your needlebooks. They are all so adorable. For the Harriet sampler, I would either switch to a darker fabric or darken the threads that are too light. You need to be happy with your projects and, in listening to you, I can tell that it is really not making you happy. It is too much stitching to not enjoy it and you need to make it your own. Hope this helps. I loved seeing your WIPs and the wedding photos too. Thank you so much for sharing…………………

Hi Merritt! I was so happy to see anew video from you to watch! Your red pillow is beautiful, I loved the way you finished it. I was wondering on the sampler if maybe the linen is too dark to show those lighter colors. I know it seems like the light would show up better on dark, but sometimes you need a lighter background to be able to see them. You could maybe antique it some after it’s stitched with walnut crystals if you wanted the linen to look old. Just an idea. You have so many beautiful pieces in your WIP parade and several are close to being finished. I bet you get a lot of them completed quickly. Have a great couple of weeks and happy stitching til next time! 🪡🧵🪡✂️✂️✂️☃️☃️☃️❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for the sampler suggestions - all great ideas I have not thought of. Yes, some of my WIPs are very close to being finished...goals 😊. Looking forward to the next video by the Sew N Sews - love you and Nancy! Take care and Happy Stitching! 🧵

I’ve started Harriet as well this month. Because it is my first sampler, and because so many stitchers make changes to a project, I felt free to also make changes. For example I will use the three lines of alphabets to stitch family members first names instead of the ABCs. I will experiment with using a variety of embroidery stitches instead of cross stitch on the many flowers and stems, using some colored linen threads I got from the UK this past summer. The reds and greens in the sampler seem to be the dominant colors, so I thought the golds on the border would be a perfect compliment. I will select my floss according to how well they appear on my fabric. I’m excited for this project!

Loved seeing all your projects! Everything is so beautiful. I would try a darker fabric for the Harriet sampler. I have the chart but haven’t kitted it up. I’m anxious to see someone stitch it since the picture is difficult to see. The wedding pictures turned out beautifully. ❤

So good to see you again my friend! I loved seeing all your stitchy goodness. I’m still working on my JBW o’er the fields…I did a red floss on a natural color. Love your pillow finish. I’ve been playing around with Winter Rose Manor too; and wasn’t sure about some of the red colors for the flowers & cardinal, but I checked out the model on the wall at Craft Gallery and they look pretty once they’re done. Hope you’re doing well and we can get together soon 😊 - Anne

So good to see you and your beautiful stitching, Merritt! I think your sampler just needs to be on a darker fabric. Life’s too short to stitch on things you don’t love. Test swatch those colors you’re not enjoying on some darker fabric and see how you feel about them then. Hugs!

I wonder if you went a shade darker for each color. It might be more accurate for the original colors. I had to fudge A LOT on my America piece 😂. The wedding pictures are beautiful.
@Merrcraw152 жыл бұрын
Hello, Rachel, That's a thought - changing the thread colors for certain ones may be the right way to go. I still love the America piece, but it is a little bit disappointing when you realized you have "personalized" a piece. Thank you for the wedding pictures love. 💕 Take care and Happy Stitching! 🧵

I thought the wedding photos great! Thanks for telling us about the milk glass. They looked lovely! A great video with beautiful stitching! Are you the person that found woodworking tools for the man who makes beautiful wood scissors holders? I’m having trouble with their flosstube name, a sweet couple from NC. He said they were from an estate sale. 🌲🌲⭐️⭐️⛄️

Hi, Gerry, Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I appreciate your kind words. Yes, I am the one that found the wood turning tools for Peter of Pete's Bee Skeps and the Carolina Crosstitcher, Kathy. They are the sweetest folks. I enjoy going to local estate sales; it was fun finding something that turned out to be a great find for Peter. Take care and happy 🧵

I am such a beginner stitcher to be giving advice, but if you don’t like the colors, then try something else. A thread a bit darker in shade may be just perfect. With so much time stitched you want to be happy with that. I really enjoyed your WIPS parade, you are so close to finish on some, I know we will be seeing some FFO’ s soon!

Hello, Janan, So good to hear from you and I value your opinion even being a beginner stitcher. Changing the thread colors and/ or values may be just what would please me. Thank you for watching and happy stitching and quilting! Congratulations again on your retirement! Here's hoping there are lots of hours for creativity! 💕
