My father kept us away from our mother after they separated just to spite her. knowing the anguish she would be going through not seeing her children. In his quest, he didn't care how it affected his own children. Our mom bought us toys one time and he gave them out but he never bought us a single toy till he passed 2007. I feel hurt just talking about this incident and it's over 20 years. She earned better but we couldn't receive anything from her nor see her until I went off to boarding school. We had a better life, food, and housing when my mom came home after he passed on. I know I'm still affected by this, I'm thinking of getting counseling.

@@jacqueto It's not inconsiderate to ask a man to contribute to the up keep of they kids. However, it is inconsiderate to ask a man who borrowed money to establish his ex-wife and his in debt as a result of that... to contribute equally towards the keep up of his kids. I think the reason, he opened that shop for the ex-wife was for her to support him... so that they family will not depend on his income alone. Now the situation has charged due to no fault of his own...but of his adulterous ex-wife. The man is making 22k a month can he solve with 22k a month in nigeria? The answer is capital no. And he is still paying back the loan he borrowed to establish the ex-wife. As I understood the man now has a new family.. a lady is pregnant for him. And that lady and the unborn babe needs to be taken care of and the needs to be put into consideration. It's wise for the lady to take care of the kids for now. Until the guy get on his feet.. at least until he finishe paying back the loan. If the lady refuse to grant him that... he should request for her to give him back the shop and the machine he bought her... because the are gift. She didn't work for those things. When he finish paying back the loan, he can then support himself and his children. No point tell him to pay 50k and he can't meet up with that responsibility. it's obvious that he can't given his present circumstances. The kids should go to school... the man can afford. It's high time for women to take responsibility for their actions... I don't understand why she was crying. The grass is not always greener the other side.

He has other source of income which he does not want to let the court know. The new mother is only frustrated and taunting the ex wife because she knows that one is billing him over his own children to the detriment of her own well being. The new mother should carry her own cross.What was she thinking to dabble into an unsettle home with a man with kids and not even so financial capable to carry two homes,and still has the effrontery to taunt the wife. HON.JUDGE FUNMI should also have referred this matter to MARRIAGE COUNCILLOR. The court declined TALKING about RECONCILIATION which I believe the LADY wanted. Not only the CHILDREN WELFARE. The WIFE will not be pls with this judgement.
