He's done so much behind the scenes in bringing awareness of kpop to America.. It may not have exploded then but industry people knew him and were slowly being introduced to it. Long before anyone else has.. He has really paved the way for so many Asian artists to even just have a chance.. And now look at him! JYPE is a force!

Thanks JYP for introducing Wonder Girls. I have been WG's fans since 2010. Although there are many people said WG failed in US, but I think they have already succeeded and spread the KPOP to world, and WG has more fans outside of Korea itself. Forever proud of WG and JYP Nation😍😍😍

Wow, this was a fascinating time capsule. I knew about JYP's attempts to break into the American market back in the late 00's but it's cool to see actual footage of it. Also cool to see some former JYP artists like Rain, Min(Miss A), Lim Jeong-hee(J-Lim), Nichkhun and Wonder Girls when Hyuna was briefly in the group. And this was before "Nobody" became the first Korean song to chart on the Hot 100. Makes me wonder what would have happened if The Great Recession hadn't hit, how things would have turned out. Either way, while the first attempt failed, clearly JYP was able to bounce back and now he has groups like TWICE who are doing very good in America. And now we have another attempt at breaking into the American market with his new girl group VCHA. Also that was so funny at the beginning. "Hey, I booked studio time first." "Yeah, but Mariah Carey wanted it." "Oh, ok."😂

this is the video i bring up when people are confused as to why kpop "copies" from black culture. jyp was heavily influenced by black artists, his building is even covered with tribute pictures of those artists. kpop is essentially korean pop! jyp really succeeded and i believe he is one of the main influences for kpop going hallyu.

This documentary really showcases how much hard work JYP has put into his work over the years. It can be very difficult in the U.S. music market. Through his many collaborations with many of the influential black artists and producers it explains his love for R&B. K-DOC stated that Lil Jon had discovered Usher and Ciara. That is not correct. Both artists were discovered and signed by L.A. Reid and Jazze Pha.

Writing and composing for g.o.d, debuting Rain, 2PM, Wonder Girls, and TWICE, and now continuing international success w/ ITZY and Stray Kids- Park Jin Young is a legend in K-Pop, like him or not.

This was fascinating, especially that JYP had his sights set on the US even before BTS, BP, and other groups became huge here.

Wow! What a great story!! Perseverance, dedication and the drive to succeed…. Deserving of all his achievements….Well Done JYP
