There are two things I love about these videos: 1) It's great that even the regular folk get a chance to shine in the spotlight next to all the Anands, Dudas and Carlsens. 2) It's great to have real life examples of how your teachings inspire and help others. Thank you for all your work. ♥

I really like that you sometimes mix it up by talking about games played on lower rating-levels. Some of the early not so good moves white did looks like something I could also have gone for. Black did a tremendous job exploiting those in this game. 😊

Love seeing Kalashnikov games! Well played Christian. Thanks for sharing GM King. I own both the Chessable course and the book and HIGHLY recommend EITHER or BOTH, depending on what you're looking for. They're both excellent. I also have GM King's Anti-Sicilian Chessable course which is a VERY good compliment to the Kalashnikov course! Highly recommend it, as well.

Excellent work Daniel. Off topic - is it possible for you to have a look at some of Hans Niemanns games in the recent Uralsk Open which he won. Noone else in the industry is reporting on this tournament. It would be nice to see how Hans is developing.

I tried the Kalashnikov for several months. I liked it when white allowed me to enter it. The problem, for me, was not the Kalashnikov at all. It was the Rossolimo. I did not care for the black side of the Rossolimo.

Why play kalashnikov? Looks like white have kings indian on steroids. Is it really better than schveshnikov, where u dont allow the bind, but u have double fpawn?!
@PowerPlayChess
@PowerPlayChess 11 ай бұрын
I have shown in several videos on this channel how Black is able to break the bind. One great feature of this line is that Black is able to exploit the weakness of the d4 square, something rarely available to Black in the King’s Indian.
@robinesperoza
@robinesperoza 11 ай бұрын
From what I get from these videos, the optics can be deceiving. For example the "Weak" d6 pawn, which is often quite healthy. The "Bind" that can be broken. Black being "cramped" but able to break out. One of the reasons I would play this opening is because of its deceiving looks.

Dare I say that black's victory had more to do with white's poor play than the merits of the opening.
@PowerPlayChess
@PowerPlayChess 11 ай бұрын
If one side is going to win, the other has to make mistakes! But White's moves were quite typical, that's what I find interesting, and the errors were exploited very well. Having played the Sicilian for around 40 years, I can assure you that this kind of scenario, where Black uses a superior pawn structure to counter-attack a weakened king, is very common. And that would have something to do with 'the merits of the opening' - namely the sound kingside pawn structure.
