Like John Nobile once wrote on his Lonely Planet publications almost 30 years ago is that Kamchatka is a very hyperactive location and that creation is still an ongoing and an unfinished process here, thus all of the volcanism with 27 active volcanoes in that area, along with the nearby Kuril Islands. He also stated that the North American Plate is colliding with the North Eurasian Plate near the Kamchatka Peninsula which is causing the very high amount of earthquakes in this area. He must have visited Kamchatka many, many times to state this.

Thank you sir. Your explanation is very enlightening. It appears that there is lotsa snow covered ( renewable) lands up in north. Wonder why Russians do not let some snow go to African continent n hence making life livable. Good day
