I never understood why I was always so drawn to him and his roles until I recently found out we share the same birthday. He is a textbook Virgo and reminds me so much of myself. I obviously can't speak for him, (the closest I've ever been to him is going as the "You're breathtaking" meme for Halloween one year) but he actually does seem to sincerely enjoy interacting with his fans (although I would think it usually comes with some awkwardness because he doesn't seem to like to receive praise. Almost in a Buddhist monk sort of way) He doesn't like the paparazzi, but litterally no one does, they hate themselves and each other, but it's profitable. A while back I realised that Keanu Reeves is essentially a light reflection of Roman Polanski. Keanu also lost his wife and child, but unlike Roman he never fell down into becoming a evil man. Infact outside of making "Great films" Polanski has never benefited the world, Keanu meanwhile donates to charities, made his own cancer foundation which helps cancer research, then there also how he helps people in everyday life, doing things like giving them lifts, giving up seats for people and he likes to get to know them.

Look he has to deal with identity theft and stalkers too so why blame him for being somewhat antisocial it's not him with the problem it's those who harass him. I saw the title of this vid and thought "oh no, not more Sad Keanu/Sigma Male Goals BS"... ....but you gave us a layered and nuanced series of clips and soundbites instead, which just left his identity HIS and did not try to own him for some vested-interest personal nonsense. I'm glad. This was subtle and and still very professionally edited and compiled, in short-form. That's a tricky balance to manage: saying something without slamming a very subjective interpretation in the face of the audience - mostly using bits of interviews (and some articles) to boot. Plus, your MUBI promo was great🙂 Subscribed.

It always seems to come to it that those who don't want fame are the ones most deserved of it. And in Keanu's case, I feel him pushing that fame away and showing that none of it matters, as we're all just people, is what draws people in. One thing I hope to do in my career is work on a production of his, because he definitely has had an effect on me growing up through his work.

Really really good. How do you source and build the soundtrack and sound effects on these? Do you think it would be possible to do a behind the scenes build up so other editors like myself can get a behind-the-edit look into your processes too?
