If Magic is a visual art, then seeing things can't be bad...right?
they say it's all in your head, as if that makes it better, in my head that's right where I live.
Garrett opens up about seeing pink elephants and finds out others can see them too. in fact he's been collecting them for years there's 285 pink elephants only a little over 100 make it on to camera this time.
enter into your own magic symbolism... Define them before they define you! Think about how to give meaning to the things in your life.

I want to give this a thumbs up, but it's also at 42, so I don't want to ruin that magical number ;-) I'm loving seeing some of your philosophy!

Thank you so much Garrett for your sharing. It is so interesting to learn all these things about meaning. I have sadly never thought of that, and all you are sharing makes sens. I definitely needed this in my approach in our art. Each time is meet you, I do feel something special about you. The way you give a meaning to each choice you do might be a part of all your aura. The world of magic needs this kind of sharing.I need this kind of sharing. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

"Don't think of a pink elefant" is also a way of demonstrating that a part of our consciousness can't deal with negatives.

Spotted a bottle of Delirium Tremens among that Pink Elephant collection. One of my favourite beers. 😋 Loving the videos you're doing on KZbin. Great to see a focus on magic as an instrument to create art. Looking forward to more videos on theory and being creative.

This is such an interesting video. I'd love to hear about your props' symbolism so that, just like you said, it could inspire people to find their own symbols, something I struggle with a lot. I guess it's kinda like "Know your why", if I'm not wrong.

Hey Garrett, I love this video. I was sad the music shadowed you near the end. My wife still talks about your big coin trick.

Could an altered state of mind be helpful to your magic? I like what you say about attaining that state through imagination.

Brendan McGrath Performance Magic is an art form, therefore there’s no definitive answers, each artist has to find their own. However I would consider that what you come up with in an altered state of mind is only going to be entertaining to those in that same altered state of mind. It’s your life, you can do what you want, but I would do enough research let you know exactly the effects of it in your body, And how to bring yourself back to a state of peace so you don’t create a dependency. For me it’s a lot easier and safer to just go there in my mind, the way an actor would go into that state of mind. Your brain will react to the visualizations, you’ll start thinking more creatively, and the benefits I have found is that I can perfectly recall all of the crazy thoughts. And they all come from a similar base mind that I am trying to entertain.

Are you stalking me? Cause you just made a video about the exact issues I'm facing with magic at the moment! I am at a point where I can do a few card routines extremely well, so I am trying to learn some tricks that are not card tricks. However I have a hard time choosing tricks to learn and that's where your video comes into play. Why should I always carry a deck of cards with me? Isn't that strange? Why should I learn bill magic? Why more card tricks? What's my motivation for always carrying clown noses (sponge balls) everywhere I go? Should I try to come up with my own tricks, or should I buy tricks from other magicians and then mold their patter to fit my own personality? I guess what I am trying to say is that I always approached magic like I approached everything else in life: "This is interesting, I am going to do this now for months at a time without giving much thought why am I doing this." But this video was the final question mark in the sentence I've started forming in the last few months of learning magic, and that is: "Why am I doing this?" Thanks again for an awesome video, and I am looking forward to more insightful videos such as this one! I even linked it to my non-magician friends as I believe the video explains the art behind magic so well!
