Some are pointing out that the Bible gives humans permission to eat meat after the flood, but is unclear on when animals started being carnivorous. Answers in Genesis seems to hold a position that animals ate meat immediately after the fall, but does so tenuously. I believe I was mixing up Ken Ham and Kent Hovind, who holds to meat origins after the flood. I'll need to investigate further, but that these positions seem to be a toss-up tells us that any dogmatic Genesis interpretation may be a mistake.

Paul, major potential correction from around the 17 minute mark: I don't think that Creationists claim all animals were vegetarians before the Flood, but rather that all animals were vegetarian before the Fall (and expulsion from the Garden of Eden). If the AiG crew have made separate claims about animals being vegetarian between the Fall and the Flood, I would be curious to see it and will retract my statement.

Paranormal - That's shocking to me... are they doing it to explain how everything on the Ark didn't eat everything else? From my Creationist upbringing (including lectures from Hovind's organization), the explanation I got was that carnivores didn't exist before The Fall and expulsion from the Garden, when death entered the world as a consequence of Adam's original sin. So that means the Ham and AiGs version conflicts with other Creation "scientists"... quelle surprise!

I know that before the *FLOOD*, dinosaurs and man lived in harmony, and the dinosaurs were all herbivores. I don't know for sure that he extrapolates that to all animals, but it seems like an odd distinction to make, if he doesn't. I think that his logic goes like this: 400,000 animals were on the boat, because math. There wasn't enough meat on the boat to feed the carniverous animals on the boat... therefore we can assume that they were fed rabbit food from the hydroponics bay. It's all very logical and stuff.

IGER Television Ok, let's for the sake of discussion give you that NASA is lying. Look at this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jGmZpJ6CaJqHoq8 The interesting part where the rocket continue about 1.000 feet after it "hit the dome". And move in about 1.100 feet?/second. And the extreme lack of excitement from the launchers, regardless if they are flat earthers or not, they should react... in some way.
@MrDanAng16 жыл бұрын
And: kzbin.info/www/bejne/roOTdHlvm7Srobs Looking a little further on the video from GoFast 2014. Here we find that the rocket slowly stop and start to fall towards the ground again. And the sideways camera have a fish eye lens, but each time the Earth is centered in the picture, the Earth is curved. Regardless of the angle the camera is filming. Not by much, but clearly noticable. So, both NASA and the Bible is a fraud. (And if you have a problem here, remember I use YOUR standard of evidence!) So I guess both the worldview of the Bible and the worldview of NASA is a fraud (again, YOUR standard of evidence). So what now? Investigate the Greek or Norse or Hindu worlview? Mayan? Australian aboriginals? Brain in a jar? The Matrix?

And unlike The Blunder From Down Under, who I think is a True Believer (TM) desperately trying to get the rest of the world to stop criticising him so he can go back to his nice little bubble of specialness, I'm 99% certain Eric Hovind is a con-man out fleecing the gullible. I think the way to tell whether an apologist is a con-artist or a True Believer (TM) is to take note of whether they favour arguing facts or playing word games. If they go for the word games, they're a con-artist. Bonus con-artist points if they also have that slimy vibe to them. Eric Hovind loves word games and has the sliminess. He just latched onto Sye Ten Bruggencate's crap and hasn't let go since. Jailbird Hovind, on the other hand, continues to argue facts and just comes off as stupid or crazy, depending on what he's talking about at the time. So we have one con-man and one True Believer (TM) in the same family when it comes to the Hovinds.
@GlorifiedTruth6 жыл бұрын
I've had the same thought about Eric Hovind. But I think we may be underestimating the extent of the mental gymnastics someone will use to justify his beliefs. Hovind the junior doesn't strike me as having the brains to "know better" than to see through his own crap. I could be wrong, though. After all, hucksterism runs in his blood.

No, he really isn't. It's not an easy thing to answer. Humans are too good at compartmentalizing. Even if you really believe God can move mountains if you pray hard enough, you still get some heavy equipment to move that mountain--and then praise God for moving the mountain. In Ken's case, I am pretty sure he doesn't believe a word of it. He's in business. As the used car salesman puts on the happy face and acts like you are both wise and wily, so Ken puts on his Genesis face. Georgia is actually well educated. I don't know if she is Lying for Jesus out of a real commitment or simply knows that she'll make a hell of a lot more money doing what she does rather than what she trained for. I do know that those two numbskulls embarrass the hell out of her sometimes. It's fun to concentrate on her face when they are talking.

One lie breads another to keep the fist lie from being exposed and so it goes on and on and on.... if you called time on one of his lies then you have to keep regressing back to source until the first lie that started it off is exposed. It would be like putting silk back into the spider after it made its web to see where it all started from. I guess by this time so many lies or un-thruths have been made that Ken now has an obligation to himself to keep the lies flowing thus stemming the flow of natural reason and curiousity to learn how the world realy is. That would take him to open his mind which is a terrible thing as mention, it would end up falling out :)

Good for you Paul! I homeschooled my kids, who both went on to College and did well. I absolutely believe this was the best course for us. But I always believed that my first responsibility of an educator was to give my kids a good education in science, history, and even religion. During their time as homeschooled kids, they were confirmed as Christians (Anglicans.) We believe in the family motto, "Love God, Love your neighbour as yourself, and Don't be stupid." The last clause does not allow you to deny evolution. I believe there are many good reasons for homeschooling, but these nut bars, who seem intent on producing young people who seem to have been educated, but were not, are making things difficult for rational people like my family. Homeschooling is a great choice for some families, as you rightly point out. It should never become an excuse to deny any child a proper education in science or history.

The best thing about science, is that often times evidence in one type of science will completely be independently verified by a separate branches of science. For example Geology and Biology oftentimes showing links in the fossil records such as the TK boundary and the impact event in the Yucatan Peninsula can both be easily independently verified in the geological record as well as the fossilized biological record. We see this all the time in all the branches of sciences. Not so much in contemporary religion.

I wonder if Ken's shirt is a poly/cotton blend.

I remember a Star Trek episode where Kirk is fighting a bad guy and McCoy comments to Spock that bad usually triumphs unless good is very, very careful. No difference with your expose on Ken's world. Truth, while often messy and uncomfortable evidently needs careful support in this world as well.

Two questions: 1) Did I get you started looking at those auto-captions? Or is that just unrelated to what I've been working on? (side note, you can view the auto-captions for your own video and see some interesting thigns, such as, 18:36 "please click unsubscribe...") 2) Where have they claimed all animals were vegetarian until after the flood? I thought the claim was about the fall - the garden of eaden and the whole fruit-eating incident - not the flood. (17:16, if you're looking for the claim I'm talking about)

If Sham is the emperor, who is Darth Vadar? Are you surprised Sham played the martyr card by lying?

I'd say Kent Hovind is the Emperor and Ken is Vader... Eric is of course Jar Jar.

Hmmm you may have a point there... so maybe Kent's Plagieus.

Oh man, thanks for pulling in the Chesterton quote. He's the best. I do remember it a little differently, and I refuse to look it up, as I like my recalled version better. Who knows, he may have actually said it both ways. "Merely having an open mind is nothing. The object of opening the mind, as of opening the mouth, is to shut it again on something solid." Christian or no, that guy had a brain that didn't leak out.

@Paulogia the joke about being so open-minded that their brain is falling out might be old, but it's still fun, and the audience has so precious little to laugh at, so it should be perfectly understandable that it got the biggest laugh to date :)

Hey Paul, not sure what AIG's position is on it but wouldnt the animals had a only plant diet until after the fall from eden and not till after the flood like you say at 17:15 - 17:30? Its a rediculous point to argu i know. But wouldnt that be more consistent with what the bible says?

Do they say animals were vegetarians until after the FLOOD, or after the FALL?

Ideas should always be able to stand on their own if they're true ideas. If you're afraid your idea can't stand on its own, maybe you should be, and maybe you should examine the truth or lie of your idea.
