Ha! ...I still record with cassette too. My daughter put audacity on my laptop and I've never figured it out. Waiting for recording software layed out like a cassette recorder. All that extra college boy studio technician crap is confusing, unnecessary, and kills my music boner before I have a chance to pluck a note. Just a plain basic recorder is all I need...I'll hire the studio nerd when I need one. Why is it so damn hard to make something simple? I have money...give me something to buy damnit.

The 81 and 85 are ideal. I have an 81 in my Jackson and I love it. Maybe someday I’ll upgrade to both 81 and 85 but it’s already got passive pickups as well as active. And I think I d have to have extensive work to add the 85.

Shredding at 300bpm is not enough to be a guitar player if your songs suck, or when all the songs on your record, or even all of your records sound dull, repetitive and uninspired. Unfortunately even the not so new metal bands, like Lamb of God, or Slipknot, or FFDP, or Warbringer are no match for those well established in the 80s. They had no impact compared to veterans of the genre. The only newer thrash metal band nearly as relevant as Slayer, Sepultura, Exodus, Overkill or Testament were Lich King. Unfortunately they're not active anymore. And boy, that band delivered.

I like his riffs and overall rhythm playing, but his leads leave a lot to be desired, and he even attested to that. How he can be such a solid rhythm guitarist and a shitty lead guitarist at the same time is an interesting juxtaposition.

Truth is there will never be another Black Sabbath or AC/DC, another Priest, Maiden, Slayer, Overkill, Pantera, Queensryche, another Megadeth. I'm not pessimistic by any stretch of the imagination, but the present speaks for itself enough to forsee the future of metal music. No brilliant compositions, no fresh inspired riffs, as for marvelously crafted memorable guitar solos... I don't even believe that it will ever be the case.

I’ve never been into the Flying V, they are nice definitely but not my style I prefer Jackson performer or Ibanez and I have both. Les Paul is bad ass too I have a custom Peter Frampton model and it was built extremely well
