Seriously that’s my desert island set up. That and a strat and I wouldn’t complain on my little island. That guitar has so much character. I love that amp. ❤😎🎸

I wonder wether the better string separation comes from a more trebly sound. I have a 66 ES335 that is compared to all modern Humbucker guitars I tried more skinny and trebly sounding and thus more airy! I also have a 81 Ibanez AS 55 which I call my LP killer, she is the opposite. I once tried swapping the original Ibanez bridge and tailpiece with more authentic replacement parts - and it became overly trebly, I quickly reverted back!
@marcusdemlofficialАй бұрын
You are right. A lot of new gibson guitars are lacking treble. Overall it is about eveness of all frequencies.

Great intro. Super sound ❤. Nice explanations. No problem to stay in tune? Mine is always a problem with the G string.

It's the only Les Paul which always stays in tune. And...the neck has never moved.

Nice video, important (to us blues-rock guitarists) subject. For decades I thought the "Les Paul mystique" had to be BS. Until I got one. Just a Chinese-made Epiphone Custom, but even that thing had sustain out the wazoo. "A-a-a-a-a-a-ah! You could go out and have a bite and you'd still be hearin' that one!" And it didn't even have the long tenon neck joint. I was kind of amazed. I wondered why it had so much more sustain than my Gibson Flying V--you'd think an actual Gibson would be better in that department, but no. Maybe something to do with the more triangulated shape of the nut, bridge and back of the Les Paul, I don't know. All I know is that it _isn't_ BS.

Hi Marcus! I love Your Vids, I love Your sound and playing! Question: Do You record this Vids at living room loudness or stage loudness?
@marcusdemlofficial2 ай бұрын
I record very loud when I use amp distortion and the Sweet Elephant. .When I record low, I will use the Angry Gorilla Siggi. Here is the video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnOUqKqAa62DepI

great video. I would have loved to hear this guitar with its original P90ies. Just got a Heritage CS Goldtop with P90ies and this Combo (LP with 90ies) ticks so many boxes (at least for me) #almosttheeierlegendewollmilchsau

The Guitar was already converted in the early 70's. But i just tried a 55'all original Gold Top. It was the bomb.

That Les Paul is good but you are great. Any tips for a 3 chord guitar player to get to the level you’re at or anywhere near it?

Zhank you. Just play simple melodys and tunes from the heart.Music does not need to be complicated.
@andrewbecker37002 ай бұрын
Absolutely agree that the price means little. All guitars have variances between examples. Finding that perfectly balanced one, that has equal volume on all strings. Is one of the main things I look for. Sometimes tweaking the setup can help. But in my experience, as you've said. A dud is a dud. No pickups or fancy controls will bring a dead dog back to life. Anyone who thinks the husk doesn't matter, is lost. Wood selection matters. Construction QC matters. When you finally get that "one" that just sounds better. You understand. Unfortunately there's some people trying to convince everyone only the electronics and speakers make any real difference. That's just not accurate. Guitar tone is a sum of its parts. If the base signal to the pickups is weak, or unbalanced. Only luthier work can change that. No part of the electronics signal chain can. That's just fact.
@marcusdemlofficial2 ай бұрын
@@andrewbecker3700 Absolutely true Andrew. The electronics are the last thing to consider.

Meiner Meinung nach haben Les Pauls mit der ABR-1 Bridge eine bessere Saitentrennung und transparenteren Sound. Bei der Nashville Bridge, die leider weiter verbreitet ist, wird es schnell "muddy".
@marcusdemlofficial2 ай бұрын
Das stimmt. Es hängt aber auch da wieder vom Holz ab, ob eine gewisse Harmonie zur Hardware hergestellt wird.
