What about difficult/easy riffs that weren't on guitar initially? Like if there is a great piano or brass riff, but then you play it on guitar? Just a thought. Great content man!

Anyone ever think about how crazy a piece of wood with strings on it has come? Like literally thousands of people will gather to watch a band talk super loud in a melodic way while playing with those pieces of wood with strings. Not complaining tho. I’m all for it

Seen a hurdy gurdy? It predates the guitar and is a string instrument. If you haven't check it out, it made me think like guitars must have devolved into simpler instruments, but now the age of electronics is kickstarting it forward again. You're right though. Guitar is beautiful

When I was 16 years old I took morphine for the first time recreationally and stayed up all night randomly trying to learn crazy train. By the end of the night I could play the entire song perfectly. But by the end of the day after taking a nap to make up for lost sleep, I forgot how to play the solo right.

LSD is the most insane performance enhancer for guitar and other musical instruments. Seriously it's ridiculous how much better it makes you. Instantly you understand every note on the board, your timing becomes perfect, your precision and techniques are amplified to an absurd degree and you just get in the zone like nothing else exists. Highly recommend to anybody who has interest in psychedelics and instrument playing.

As soon as you said Crazy Train, I knew EXACTLY the part you were gonna use (as soon as you said it was in the main verse, anyway) My teacher showed me this song when I was about 15. When I was about 20 or 21 I finally got that lick after his 2nd run through the verse riff. A few years later I learned the bass riff for guitar because I just love the rhythm the bass uses to back the solo. Ive always slopped my way through the tapping, but I think RR had a unique tap-style at the start of the solo. And I was always super sloppy with that scale run at the end of the solo.

So that crazy train one is actually more difficult because if you listen to the song carefully Rhoads doesn't actually hit 4 full chugging 16th notes between the descending triads. Using dashes - as 16th rests and slashes / as 16th notes the song's pattern goes like this: /-// (chord) ///- (chord) //// (Chord) ///- (chord) Have a listen on a slow speed if you think I'm joking.

I remember when I first started playing the guitar about 6 months ago I watched this video and was hopeful that one day I may get to that level, and while I am not there yet I started off by brute forcing learning songs like master of puppets and some Hendrix licks, and honestly I think that helped me because when I am trying to learn something new I think back about this video and it really helps me. So thank you, this video means a lot to me

The opening riff of Through the Fire and Flames is actually written to be played overhand. The reason you think underhand is easier is because you played it wrong, in a fashion that is arguably easier to play underhand. However, the correct way to play it (according to, yes, the official tabs) is between the 13th fret on the G string to the 16 fret, then the 13th to the 20th, then 13th to 18th. I've experimented with this, and that 13 to 20 stretch is incredibly difficult and painful to do from underneath. Overhand is the best way to do it. And yes, it is quite playable. With some practice.

Suggestion: Small Licks, Big Impact Licks that are not the main part of the song or even main riff but without them, the song just would not be as cool. Examples: (1) The descending lick in the main Back in Black riff, (2) The nylon acoustic run in Megadeth's Holy Wars (with the riff following it crushes just that much more), (3) Joan Jett/The Arrows - I love Rock-n-Roll with the little weedly descending run (like Back in Black). These are licks that didn't literally need to structurally be there to hold up the song but because they are, the song is that much cooler.
