1 Peter 3:8-12. Today is May 16, 2023. And on this day, let us pray for those who are angry.

This is good. Our goal is not external blessings of obedience, but it's God's blessing and favor upon us. Even though life may be rough, we strive to please HIM by our obedience. It's a result of His grace, not a work to receive His grace.

Salvation by grace and sanctification by grace. We grow as Christians because we have God working inside of us. We don't grow through following the law. We grow by increasingly knowing the riches of His grace.

I truly believe however I have a question, someone on a previous video mentioned something about Calvinism? I really get a lot from people like John piper, Paul washer and John MacArthur. It even says in Romans that faith is obedience and holiness.

3:35 - I disagree. The verse doesn't claim that those who do items 1-6 will automatically love life and see good days. That's misleading. Obviously plenty of people live that way and wind up suffering one way or another. The verse merely says that if you want to see good days, these are a few things you can do to increase your chances.

its not really the focus however, although I agree with you- it isn't the focus that we get something out of it, but just like the proverbs that's a general guideline.. and in any suffering, they will still find happiness in these good virtues. but surely, many people who act in opposition find themselves in far worse situations. its also not really about chances here, as much as it might be about what God will do and what God understands.

1 Peter is all about suffering Christians who want to give up and 🏃, and this is primarily for those who are God's to follow Him and He is their joy in these days. If we could find pure joy in the world we wouldnt be His children because the god of this world is Satan.

This is a misleading examination of the verses which tends to happen when the bible is considered in verses and individual books as opposed to a collection of books. God is the powerful and all knowing. God has the power to work through people. But one thing is true, God is just. For this reason, there isn't always peace and love. God hates evil and often does destroy evil doers. Something else misleading, Christians believe you should always turn the other cheeks but if you read the bible God does direct to pick up a weapon in defense. The bottom line is that God will determine what you need to do given the circumstances. There is a time to turn the other cheek and there is a time to fight. For this reason, one must have a relationship with God; talk with God, listen to God, and know God's voice. It's really upsetting that the bible isn't view or analyzed in its totality.

Have to disagree with LV because you understand something better by breaking it down to understand it better be it the Bible or a car. The Bible is so big that it needs to be broken down. I think the main issue is that LV is following a different branch of Christianity to John Piper and most of us or hasn't listened to the video
@BretThomson4 жыл бұрын
LV - That doesn’t sound entirely true to me. I can’t think of a time where Paul picked up a weapon to fight.

so much for sola fide and anti works based salvation. protestants just can't admit how necessary a life of grace and sanctification is for salavtion. They keep on fooling themselves that "easy believism" can get them to heaven. To live as saints isn't just mere gratitude to God, it isn't to justify us before men, it isn't something that naturally flows from us or evidenced based salavtion. It is a command, it is mandatory it is an absolute necessity to live as a saint.

+karen lee ok so is sanctification necessary for salvation as much as faith or is it optional to be a saint?
