***** Some good verses that I like to refer to are *Hebrews **2:18* which states that "For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, *He is able to aid those who are tempted*." This shows that whenever you are tempted if you pray to your great High Priest who is in heaven, Jesus the Son of God, He can aid you and keep you from falling into the teeth of temptation's snare by His mighty power. For it is near to impossible to try to evade giving into temptation without the help of the gracious Lord our Savior, Jesus Christ. When tempted call upon Him to help you and fix you eyes on Him and He surly shall aid you in your temptations. My favorite verse to refer to is *Galatians **5:16* this says "I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you *shall not* fulfill the lust of the flesh" I have found this verse very helpful in my battles of temptation. I have found if you are focusing on God and what He did in your life (specifically saving you from sin and hell by sending His Son to be crucified so that you may be saved by faith in Him) then you have no room in your mind to be focusing on the sinful temptations that have ceased you. Sin is contrary to the Spirit (Gal 5:17) Walking in the Spirit means that you will not be walking in the flesh. Walking with God and focusing on Him in prayer and Bible reading will not leave any room within you to even pay attention to that temptation. This was just from my limited experience in battling temptation, hope these scriptures help! :)

***** I've battled with many of these (most recently self pity) but remember it says in Psalm 30:5 "weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning" whenever you are cast down due to your temptation *always* remember that Jesus loves you and freed you from your sins (rev 1:5) and He can comfort you and help you. And when you sin 1 John 1:9 says God will forgive you if you confess your sins because Christ loved you enough to die and take your sins upon Himself on the cross. So even if you don't *feel* forgiven, you definitely are forgiven if you repented and trusted in Jesus for your salvation.

john was not written by 'john'. Also, the Book of John is contradicted by the other three, Mark, Matthew, and Luke. In John Jesus IS god, while in Mark Matthew and Luke Jesus is 'the son of god'....... why? John was written at 100 a.d. so it is NOT possible the 'John' the other followers of Jesus mention wrote it. It also argues that 'John' was the disciple that was most closest and revered by Jesus but that is also contradicted in the other books of the New Testament. When analyzed, the Book of John was written to dispute all other sects of the other Apostles and written at a later date for that specific purpose which clearly was to prove the argument against Jesus being the sun of god but rather God. essentially ghost written deceptively in the name of John.

Great teaching. I am going to use this method when faced with temptations. Here's the promise I am going to trust in: "No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). Sometimes, I don't immediately see a way of escape, but that is a clear promise. Thank-you, Pastor John. Thank-YOU, Jesus.
