Key to make bouncy drums ( KBeaZY) 1. Good sound selection, starts with hi hats and claps to get the rhythm going, changes samples later. 2. Always before adding 808 cut out the low end from instruments around 250-350hz, follows the root note of the melody for 808, make sure it is in key, make variations in the 808 on the next 4 bars, add fast notes in the end. 3. Do variation in hi - hats according to beat by adding rools and lowering octaves, lower the velocity of base notes of hi-hats, likes to add little reverb on hi- hat. 4. Add Kick that goes with 808 and hi-hat, these 3 work together 5. Add Open hi- hats, percs, if 808 not hittin hard increase the fx knob in legacy settings.

LISTEN GUYS, A TIP For y'all, because I think KBeaZy did it wrong, no offense of course: When u cutting low frequencies, change the band type to High Pass, dont use the default one, because in that case it won't cut the whole lows, it still gonna be a little bit of them. Try both options and you'll hear a slight difference if you got good monitors or headphones. Anyways good tutorial, thank you KB
@Deadtalks6 жыл бұрын
DreamChaser Yeah but the frequencies left are gonna be minimal so it doesnt really matter unless the melodys and bass is clashing hard
@Deadtalks6 жыл бұрын
Bonez That is just not true, you dont need to eq out all the lows in a melody if it is not clashing with other low frequencies
@JvleelGone6 жыл бұрын
Both ways will work y'all. But ultimately if it's in a different octave it shouldnt clash. If you want banging beats also don't have the 808 up too loud. 808s eat up head room like nothing else and hipass it to 20 because most speakers can't even go past 40hz

Wouldn't you want some of those lower frequencies from the melodies to mesh with the fundamental frequencies of the 808? If you just put a hard HP filter on all your synths the melodies sound a little too thin and distant from the low end.
@saint79866 жыл бұрын
Alpha Monk you don't want the low ends to clash with your 808s and make it sound muddy
@alphamonk73076 жыл бұрын
Correct, if you have an absurd amount of low end in a melody (like a bass melody for instance). But if the synth or instrument in the melody is in a higher octave or simply has a higher pitched tone, you NEED a small amount of the low end from the melody to mix in with the phase of the 808. EQ is all about phase and depth. It's a multidimensional process that takes a lot of patience and good listening. I think most people just want an easy quick-fix method. But there isn't any such thing. Sorry mate
@chimneyOWN3D6 жыл бұрын
real facts. I've heard it on my own experience
@acekiller100016 жыл бұрын
Parametric eq 2 isnt a a very hard eq. Even when pulling the knobs all the way down it is only -18dB. Also keep in mind this guy is not a proffessional mixing engineer and even if he was who ever he sends a beat to it will get remixed and mastered anyway so really its not that important.
