Tragic story. I was living in a group home when the song released. I Thank GOD almighty for sparing my life so many times. Believe and pray. Be humble and do what feels right from the heart. Sometimes be good to people because it feels right. So many single mothers ruined the lives of their young sons and daughters. That is what the whole "I don't need a man", welfare, section 8, feminist movement was designed to do. Rest In Peace HOOD. You was a dope artist.

You are very welcome... I miss him.. His story is a pleasure to tell. He was the MOST PASSIONATE ARTIST I have ever had the pleasure of being around. No one was hungrier than him. From the kid I grew up with till the day he left us. May he forever Rest In Power.

Thank you so much for sharing this. Hood was up there with Nas, AZ, and Big Pun as guys who had me sold from the first verse. If I was an A&R I could have signed him without hearing anything else but that Scenario verse. It's just mind blowing that that was his first and only commercial release. I always hoped that he had an unreleased demo or something somewhere, but the only thing I've found in 26 years on scouring the internet was the one "Drop Bombs" joint that El-P remixed.

Thank you for the story. Was Hood rapping on the snippet (Rockafella R.I.P) from Redman's album Dare Iz A Dark Side? ii so which song was that?
@GraffitiBleu Жыл бұрын
I don't believe he rapped on any of Redman's tracks. Although I can't be 100%. Sure... "Dare iz a Dark Side" was one of my favorite Redman's albums. So I will be investigating to see if that went down..
@abubakr5627 Жыл бұрын
@@GraffitiBleu That's one of my favourite albums after 'Whut Thee Album' and 'Muddy Waters' in Redman's catalogue. Please check out the snippet, the rapper on it sounds a lot like Hood. Maybe he restyled his name from Roc Ski to Rocafella. R.I.P Hood.
@penagon245 ай бұрын
That wasn't Hood on Redman's album. That was actually a dude named Rockafella who was a friend of Red's who passed young as well. They do sound somewhat similar, so I can see why someone might think they were the same person. The single "Rockafella" is a dedication to him.

@@gaffle-411 That’s a great question. If Troy’s murderer was brought to justice, I haven’t found any press on it. Doesn’t mean he wasn’t caught. I just haven’t found proof of it. The so called “Hip-Hop Police” are funny. They are quick to lock rappers up for having a gun on the tour bus; but Tupac, Biggie, Nipsey and others HAVE NOT RECEIVED JUSTICE.

@@GraffitiBleu Is it possible that Q-Tip would have sacrificed Kid Hood? The Scenario Remix would be a way to pay tribute to him and also capitalize on his death.
@GraffitiBleu6 ай бұрын
@williamwalsh1533 Interesting theory... I can tell you this.. in the circles we were in, Damon John, Rockwilder, and a few other cats from Queens came up with us... Q-Tip wasn't in our circles when we were young. So I can not rule that out. To be honest... even on my independent level, I have seen some things that will make you turn to God. That being said, every hood legend, tale, or rumor I have heard about tip was nothing but positive.
