I wasn't sure if anyone else caught this but as a 90s baby like Ash I couldn't help but make a connection I thought was fascinating. The girls were twins, born on October 11th, one girlie one a little more rough around the edges & their last name was Parker juuuuust like the twins in 'The Parent Trap'. Just thought I'd share. Love you girlies 🥰

I agree that Mary Holt or whatever fucked up, but I think it's worth considering the gender dynamics of the 20s.. not only that, she thinks he's some important man from the bank. copilots have crashed airplanes full of people for a 10th of that kind of social conditioning When he said to her "The younger one," I could see her thinking that, in this unique circumstance, this "work friend" knows he has two daughters and simply mentioned one for expediency's sake... more "enough with the questions this is an emergency" rather than "right, two daughters.. uhh, the younger one?" I'm not saying she wasn't negligent but I doubt it's quite as idiotic as it appears on paper, especially if she had the sense to feel responsible later.

The first long-distance phone call occurred in New York from Bell to San Francisco and Watson in 1915, there may not have been a telephone call from the school to the bank at this time. Not every institution had phones? 16:21

Y'all should do Richard Evonitz. His ex wife is still alive and is an author who's been telling her story of being married to a serial killer. Would be an awesome interview!

I’m sorry these people should definitely called out I know it was a different time but common sense All the misinformation and ignorance of the person said to be trusted with picking her up. I’m mean immediately when stated that the father wanted his daughter we all immediately said/ thought “only One “?! This teacher was beyond stupid and negligent If she was dealing with a student making a case for not doing homework she would of seen through the holes and spotted the red flags if a student was putting a a story out like that to get out of school Then not checking ringing home qualifying anything and putting the other child at risk and anxiety waiting for her sister not bothering to inform her that her sister had already left And yes the 1920s but there had been infamous well known child kidnap cases that were in the public’s psyche Fustrating and tragic😢
