After Adam Williams’ case in Texas was resolved, there was still the matter of his outstanding charges back in Utah. In February 2022, documents filed with the Cache County court revealed that prosecutors decided to dismiss those charges without prejudice. But they didn’t do it to cut him a break. The real reason they didn’t pursue the case was chilling. They feared Adam Williams would harm a corrections officer and escape custody while being transported. It wasn’t worth the risk because he was already serving a life sentence with no chance for parole.

@@zyereriwhen you are a parent your responsibility is to your children, full stop. Not your love life, not your own personal happiness even; Your child’s livelihood becomes your only real obligation. My mom raised me by herself and while I know for a fact she got depressed and lonely on many coassions, she never brought another man around me while I was growing up for this EXACT reason. Removing any chances of a romantic interest negatively impacting me or my relationship with her. So two things can be true at the same time; Abuse victims have a very difficult situation physically and mentally, to the extent it’s hard for anyone else to understand and thus no one has the right to speak on what they go through except them, AND parents need to be more mindful of how they live their daily lives.

On a lighter note here, my boys are now 17 & 15! They are both on their HS baseball team, and also play competitive travel ball. They have an almost 14 yr old sister who i got pregnant by an unwanted, traumatic event....if u know what I mean....but i couldn't bare to get rid of her, so I kept the pregnancy. And so glad that I did! She's a mini me, and I love her to bits! She's super artistic and can draw and make amazing pieces that blow me away! My 17 yr old is a senior this year and already being scouted by several colleges for baseball, D1-D3. My 15 yr old a sophomore, hes being watched by colleges too, but can't be contacted to be scouted til Aug 1st of his junior year. But they all have absolutely amazing, bright futures ahead of them! I honestly couldn't be more proud of them! I did end up getting Sol legal custody after YEARS of fighting in court for my boys. Sadly, the court still allowed him visitation w my boys. So I never told my boys in detail of ANY of what their dad used to do to me. All they knew is that he used to hurt mama real bad. All of the police reports, pictures, medical reports, court paperwork etc. has always been hidden away, locked in my safe. Up until last year, I thought they were completely sheltered fm the horrors of that old life. My parents and I decided to not say a single negative thing abt their dad to them, for them to make their own decisions abt their father themselves. My boys are half of him, and i never wanted my boys (or even my daughter too) to think that there was anything inherantly "bad" abt them because of their fathers doing so much evil toward me. I didnt want them to think that evil runs thru them because of their fathers. But my 17 yr old sat down w his siblings and I and told me he remembers every minute of that night. I didnt believe him. So he laid it all out. Told me step by step what happened that night. My heart shattered. I checked w my parents and they said they'd never dream to tell him what happened, and their dad still to this day will deny that any abuse happened. He claims that I did all of my injuries to myself, including strangling myself w my own hands to make him look bad lmao! His family believed him up until last yr too. So they didn't tell my son anything. He told THEM he remembers what happened and that I wasn't lying. He told me he still has nightmares of that night. I asked why he never told me, he said he didnt wanna bring it up and make me have to relive that noght over again. I told him he shouldnt have had to live w this in silence and deal w the pain of it alone, that i would have been there to help him. I was gutted, completely shattered when he told me. I thought i had protected them their whole lives, but instead he tried to protect me. Which just shows u his heart. He then told me that when his sister was around 8ish, or 9 and his brother was 10ish, or 11 that he told them abt that night. In detail. I had no idea cuz they thought if they said they knew, it would hurt me all over again. We have open communication in our home, my kids have told me things I wish they didn't lmao! That's the only secret they ever kept fm me. Now, my daughter has never met her father, for obvious reasons. But the courts forced me to allow my sons a relationship w their dad. These days, my 15 yr old BARELY has a relationship w him. He doesn't like talking to him but will go over to his house once every few mos out of guilt. My 17 yr old, he's cut complete contact w his dad. He doesn't have clothes, a room, not even a bed at his dad and new family's house. He hasn't spent more time than extended family dinners at a restaurant when great grandparents visit the state, with his dad since the age of 11, almost 12. Despite all of my kids horrific start to life, they are all wonderful, respectful, straight A students. They are all beyond what I could ever hope for them to have become! And I have done that myself as a single mother, with help fm my parents! And I refuse to even date after being w their dad. I don't wanna risk putting my babies into another volatile, violent and deadly/dangerous situation that we fought so hard to get away fm. So now, it's just me and my kiddos with an amazing, calm, happy household. I couldn't even begin to dream of a better life for me or them! Even now, I am closer to my exes mom and dad than he is even! They now know what my sons and I lived thru. And they're mad abt that cuz they didn't raise their son to behave the way he did. They now support me and all 3 of my children any way that they can! They barely talk to their own son, only when absolutely necessary. And they have nothing to do w his new gf and their now 5 yr old daughter. His gf doesn't allow them to be involved w their kid. But my biys do love their sister on dad's side, and I'm grateful for that. They know who her parents is is not her fault, same as who their dad is is not theirs either. They will fiercely protect not only my daughter, but their sister on dad's side too. That makes me so happy, cuz she IS their sister too. Just wanted to throw a little joy in there after my last comment lol!

Finances are the issue. If you caught the part where she said she had no way to pay rent & feared homelessness with her daughter, that pushed her into jumping into living with him too soon. Then she's trapped, and just wants to keep things calm & make them better because there's no where else to go. I've been there, the fear is uprooting your child because the child is happy & has no idea what's going on. I used the time to go to school so I could support my son without relying on anyone, but it was some rough years. My son remembers it fondly, and that's all you really care about at the time.
