The People should have control, not the government. The government only controls a small percentage, while the people control most of everything else. We can’t have too much policing, because then it’s controlling too much. Sure, safety is important, but you shouldn’t have too much of it. I’ve been sheltered for pretty much my entire life, but at least I still have my freedom to do my own thing and express myself. I will always stand for freedom of expression, there’s other ways to protect the kids. You can be an actual parent, and control what your kid does online. Heck, i didn’t have social media until I was like 13/14, and before that…i played online games, like club penguin, jump start, animal jam, etc. Why don’t we have those types of games anymore? They were a safe space for kids to hang out in! We don’t have any safe 3rd places for kids anymore, both online and offline, and that’s why kids are out of control, because they’re in places they shouldn’t be! We need more safe 3rd places for them…Cmon people!

I disagree. It’s not the 1800’s anymore. People rely on the government a lot more than they did back then. That way of life will never work anymore.

Literally just have an online ID which must be registered to any online capable device. That way when the hub asks you if you’re 18, it won’t have to, it will know you’re not 18 and will prevent you from having access.

@TravisWayne25413 сағат бұрын
The issue that people have with that is having your identification (with their address) uploaded to the internet.
@shizz390713 сағат бұрын
Your address is already something anyone motivated enough can get to quickly from the internet
@excederal90929 сағат бұрын
The problem with that kind of id system is it just leads to new ways of identity theft by requiring people to upload their ids to the internet to access websites

It’s all about power and control with government! And hysteria! Of “protect kids” means how can the government control you! Yes protect kids! That’s fine! Also teach parents to actually parent there kids. it isn’t the responsibility of the company to completely scrub the internet that’s literally impossible unless you want to make the internet unusable! And with so many restrictions! It makes it more of a hazard!

As a guy who has grown up with Internet (23 ) all I ask is make sure kids don't see "adult" content because it screws a kid and trust me I know
@Request_2_PANic3 сағат бұрын
When done responsibly, I'd argue regulation is good on the condition that the title is accurately representative of the contents. If not, it's dismissed without further discussion until it is. What's curious to me is how they say "Think of the kids" when discussing online content, but where's that same emphasis toward gun control, voting rights, or even requirements to run for office to begin with? Instead, moments of silence when shootings inevitably keep happening, bibles in the classroom, and book bans are somehow more important than safe, accessible, and affordable public transit, healthcare, and education for all.
