That fight scene was amazing, one of the best I've seen in recent years. He immediately realizes the disadvantage and makes fast use of nearby objects so smoothly.

And uses his speed advantage well. Knows he can dodge big swings, and gets hits in quickly with every opening. But this is far fetched, because those first 3 big punches directly to the face would’ve had him at least woozy, if not knocked out altogether. The fact he was undeterred by those big punches to the face shows a lack of realism.

I thought the exact same thing when I watched this last year, as I was watching this fight scene I was like “holy sh*t, I haven’t seen a fight scene like this since the Bourne movies. This is nuts!” And Fassbender pulls off this fight scene very nicely 👌🏽 he’s great at action.

I have to agree with the others - I saw this in the cinemas and have been waiting to rewatch this scene since then. It’s incredible. The best fight scene I’ve ever seen. Brutal. Panicked. Incredible!

What a fight sequence that is excellently directed by Fincher. The brilliance being that the film remains pretty light in regards to violence up to this point. The most we only see are this quick acts of violence committed by the killer. And then this scene hits out of nowhere with ferocity! The Killer really feels like a love letter to 60s/70s thrillers where it’s all about the silence in between the jolts of violence. And when the violence hits, it’s often impactful.

More realistic than many movies of this sort. The smaller killer was fast, skilled, and determined. Yet the bigger, more powerful aggressive killer proved a huge handful with plenty of fighting skill himself. The smaller man won through adaptation, constantly moving and ultimately with his mind i would say, and the fact that he was more precise. The big guy was more sloppy i would say. It was a close call for both men with plenty of injuries sustained.

The Brute is such an irredeemable pos, early on when he gets in sone really nasty hits to the Kiler’s face it genuinely makes you worry he’s going to black out. Especially because at that point you have no idea if he’s any good in a fight. It’s clever, because a lot of fights in movies just feel like stunt people trading impressive choreographed blows with neither really seeming phased, until the script says the bad guy is dead.

It looks like he did an x-guard sweep. a Jiu Jitsu move. The guy fell and landed on a broken table leg which stabbed him in the crotch or thigh.
