I remember saying grand final day that whoever booked The Killers deserves nothing short of an AO medal for services rendered in dragging the AFL GF entertainment out of the 1980's. How refreshing was it to not hear a peep about some clown riding his wild ponies way up in the sky with his lil darling? Amazing enough in itself! BUT, the organizer/booker doubled down and went all in and pulled off what I'd given up of ever happening! Not just no horses BUT also not a single mention or peep about the godforsaken religious chalice that gets belted out every fucking september, the fucking holy grail and the 'biggest' army. I nearly fell over in shock, lightning did strike twice that day. Neutral fan, AFL welcomes in the 2000's finally, not a single line or chord from two songs that are so cringe worthy and nausea inducing they make me want to slit my wrists, pre game entertainment provided by a world class band that irregardless of the fact you may listen to icelandic death metal only or some other style, whether your aged 5 or 155, the killers are the most non divisive band that practically everyone can at least appreciate for 20min and they actually delivered what they were paid for.I've never seen them live nor purchased their album, hearing their songs over the radio for past 13 odd years only a moron wouldn't admit they've got a bit of talent and professionalism but hats off to them for they truly did deliver and I couldn't imagine a bad word being whispered across all of australia in regards to them that day Holy shit, there's massive shoes to be filled this Sept 2018!

yeah totally agree 👍was there on the day as a tigers fan to win then see the killers live after it was just unbelievable, I don’t think any other grand final winning team and fans will have the memories of such an awesome concert

Yeah we all ran down onto the field after the match. It was incredible. I ended up jumping boundaries to get there before they started. Out of 13 killers gigs I have been to around the world, this was the best. And it was FREE and also 15 min tram ride from my home. I know your comment is old but I'm revisiting the gig tonight :)
