I feel like Flayn is the opposite of Rhea, regarding their trauma. They both suffered the massacre of their people. Went through the war and fought. Both are immortal beings that have basically seeing people's lives come and go. However, the difference that Flayn is not marked by her trauma, and tries to see the beauty in life. As for Rhea, on the CF route, she breaks her mask and goes berserk. It was kinda missed opportunity thaat Flayn or Seteth didn't serve as mentoring figure for Byleth's newfound divinity. I mean, is Byleth an Nabatean, demi-god or a dragon hybrid?

I totally agree, I like to think that Rhea and Flayn fall on opposite sides of the spectrum of how good nabiteans really can be, with Seteth lying somewhere in the middle (but with his character development over the course of the game he ends up firmly placed within the good category imo). And they definitely could have done more with the inter nabitean relationships within the church route, which could have really fleshed out byleth, flayn and seteth's characters more and made the route more unique.

Macil and Indech could use analyses on their views of humanity. All five of the saints have their own view on how redeemable humanity is and therefore how they should be. Rhea: Humanity needs a lot of guidance. It is redeemable but the guilty are not. Seteth: Humanity has issues but can work through them Flayn: Humanity is fine--seperation between Nabateans and humanity kinda sucks Indech; Humanity are kiiiinda cute? Not so easy to say Macil: Humanity sucks. Full stop.

It was such a pleasant surprise to come across this video on Reddit! I've been drumming up scripts on how to rewrite different characters in Three Houses (because my inner editor is never satisfied), so this was a wonderful motivator to finish Flayn's. She's such a heartwarming character, with a surprising depth to her that I wish the devs tapped into all the more. I'll definitely be subscribing to catch more of your analyses in the future :) P.S. That Flayn "hoopla" edit made me choke on my drink. I was NOT prepared 😂

I would have liked to see flayn and linhardt characters compared and contrasted against one another more because the main theme of crimson flower is the saints of old being defeated by the new ones with edelgard being seiros, Ferdie being seteth, bernie being indrech, and linhardt being flayn. What do you think of flayn and linhardt as characters.

That's actually a really interesting comparison that I hadn't thought to make. Off the top of my head I would say that Flayn and Linhardt are both pretty carefree characters but in very different ways. Flayn is very energetic and extroverted, whereas Linhardt is lazy and somewhat introverted. Thanks for leaving the comment maybe I can make a video on this concept some day.

Honestly I think my favorite support chain asides from Seteth is with Dimitri. So much is dug between them and I'd say they bring each other to be better.
