I'm not the original mod creator, but the one who updated it for the DLC (since Blobface sadly has not returned.) I'm so glad you finally tried Artifact of the King. I've never made it to a stream but have watched tons of your videos hoping one day to see this mod. I learned how to mod RoR2 just to update it for me and my friends. It's nice to see the community has been recommending it. If I had known you were going to finally give it a go I would have made the default config harder ;)

@@molda8082 Well, things constantly ramp up in speed and regen, projectiles go sped, and golem lazers a half undodgable, and AI is completely reworked to make everything more insane, so id say on a technical level absolutely inferno is harder

I just got a Merc Armageddon run done after a month of trying. Went back and first tried an eclipse run, just casually walking through spending 10+ min on each stage. You are def not wrong about the hyperbolic time chamber effect here.

as someone studying game design, things like this make me genuinely start to wonder: was this designed to be a tough challenge or was it designed to be what i call "unfair hell"? things like this mod's version of big spinny (the official name the ror2 devs call the spin attack) make me think its the latter. if something that hits that hard does not give the player enough time to realistically react fast enough to dodge the move, it is considered unfair. this version of the move is exactly that. you basically have to rely on RNG to not give you a ring placement that kills you. you cant honestly tell me that any of the times it didnt hit him in this vid were due to his quick reflexes

yes, actually - the mod DOES give you ample time to react to the "spin attacks" it requires the player to show mastery of the phase by seeing the attack for only a fraction of the normal time & still making the correct decision (direction to move) it's really not as bad as it may look, especially if you're not entirely comfortable with the fight

@@Woolie by "enough time to react", im including everything that is involved. simply turning your camera before it goes off isnt enough. you also have to factor in the time it takes to move your character out of the way. in both your runs, you had high movement speed, which contributed greatly to that. but that is entirely dependent on the luck you had throughout your run. there have been times where ive walked into the mithrix fight as rex with no movement speed items simply because the game never gave me any. no drops, no printers, nothing. id love to see anyone perfectly dodge this attack in that situation. also, such a situation would make most of the other attacks shown in this mod almost impossible to deal with as well.
