Thanks! I bought one last night! Your video pushed me over the edge. Love the bokeh! Can't wait to get it! I saved $500 by purchasing this from the Canon Refurbished list (plus an extra 10% off!). I always buy refurbished camera bodies and lenses directly from Canon. Why? Because the Canon tech runs each individual camera or lens through all the tests whereas the factory cameras or lenses are just spot checked. The refurbished camera or lens is verified and certified! It definitely works perfectly! I've not been disappointed yet! You're welcome!

Been using this lens since January and freaking love it. It builds on the unbelievable sharpness of the 1.2, but the stabilization is so freaking good in this new one!
@richwinestudios6 жыл бұрын
How does it compare to the 1.2? Watched a Jason Lanier review of the 1.2 and it produced incredible results. Is the aperture difference really evident or is the stabilization so good that it makes up for any slight advantage the 1.2 has?
@OliverJHughes6 жыл бұрын

My 35mm 2.0 IS is one of my favorite. Also, since I bought my 135mm 2.0L I almost never use my 70-200 anymore. If you don't have a 135 you should get one. The best bang for the buck L series lenses IMO and gives you that longer lens look and drops a background really well like the 85 but holds focus through the subject even more because of the longer FL. I def need to check out this new IS 85.
@rumporridge14 жыл бұрын
I know the R5 and R6 is all the rage right now but the 85 1.4L IS, 135 f2, and the 100 2.8L macro are killer with the Canon 5DM4 and 5DSR. One day will get the R5 but maybe in 2024 lol.

@stevess77776 жыл бұрын
Yeah, but you'll still get the perspective distortion of a 50mm, it's just cropped. It's also equivalent to 80mm f/2.8, that's two whole stops less bokeh, and the 50mm isn't exactly known for buttery smooth bokeh.

if you want 85mm f1.8 with image stabilization there is a tamron lens "Tamron SP 85mm f/1.8 Di VC " for about half the price of the canon (maybe even less used). the only downsidse with the tamron is the focus ring turns the opposite way, so if you manual focus on cannon the focus ring on the tamron may throw you off (also the tamron has more chromatic abbe-ration and probably is a little slower in autofucs, but it's half the price)

Which has helped me gain my interest again. So earlier this week I unpacked all the camera equipment I have, and placed it on shelves. Now I want to check which analogue cameras work, and which does not. I also sent one of my lenses to be fixed, which I should have done ages ago 👍🏻.

Had the 85 1.8. Great lens. Sold it when I got a 24-70 2.8. You learn your style as you go huh? 🔥

I love my Nikon 85mm F1.4 for B-Roll on my D5. Also makes georgeous Bokeh as a 170mm equivalent on my GH5!

It's that creamy blurry background in some of the photos that you see. Love bokeh.

Actually, the real word is "shallow depth of field"... "Bokeh" is this small light balls you get (especially in night photography), created by bright objects in the shallow depth of field, such all fairy lights, reflections, bright leaves, etc. Also, their shape is that of the hole made by the aperture blades on the lens (so septagons mostly, but distorted)... :)

I have to say, the 3d effect that the black cloth over the window gives when you were moving your hand was incredible XD Plus, keep the sweater!
