Pro tip: if the PokeBall shakes once, it's a guaranteed catch. Because each spin represents a shake, the more shakes there are, the less likely to catch the pokemon.

Shaking once isn't absolutely guaranteed, but it's a very high chance (like crit captures in the normal games). I've had a few break out from them...

when locked on, press a to switch targets. also throw berries on the ground to attract and distract pokemon when sneaking, use mud/slime balls/spoiled apricorns to stun pokemon who are aware of you and make them temporarily catchable.

Tip for Random Shinies: If you reset your game the shiny will be gone because it's not going to be the same unlike Mass and Massive Mass Outbreaks where they will have the same pokemon if you do the method like you did before. I had to learn this the hard way when I failed a shiny for the first time when there was a Random Shiny Luxray in the Coronet Highlands. I wanted to reset my game to save my berries because I was massive mass outbreak hunting and it wasn't there. I was pretty sad but not too much since I already had a Shiny Luxray.

when you find a shiny before you fight it or ctach it save your game so if you kill it or it runs away you can just reload the game also this is just me but while shiny hunting turn off atuo saves again so if you kill it or it runs away you dont have the game saved with the shiny gone :)

@@charityquill4965 I wasn't using this comment as a way to talk down on the graphics, it was just an explanation for why the framerate slowed down. If they tried to use models and animations from that distance, the game would be horribly laggy (due to the pokemon models being quite high poly)
