What people might not have known is that Eiji actually shows up in a cameo in Billy's Special Intro against Iori in the Vanilla versions of '98. However in the Ultimate Match versions of '98 this cameo was removed. Since Eiji was brought back as a playable character. Then SNK did little to nothing with Eiji ever since.

*KOF98UM is the best and possibly most balanced of all KOFs.* People talk about Krauser and Iori being overpowered but I've seen some of the most underestimated characters from '98 nearly destroy entire teams in '98UM (ex. Chang, Choi, Chris, Saisyu, Yuri, Chizuru, Billy, Brian, Lucky, Heavy D!). '98UM is a true compilation of the Orochi saga ('94-'97), unlike 2k2UM for the NESTS saga (so many characters don't belong in that game). Also, '98UM doesn't go all crazy with V-ism like combos that 2k2UM and the later KOFs have. _100% combos don't belong in a competitive fighter!!!_ 2k2UM and the later KOFs do have their merits, though. For instance, I thought the best characters (design-wise) to come out of the NESTS saga were K' and Vanessa and I almost wish they were part of the Orochi saga. The NESTS saga also gave us Tears and Sadistic Eyes, two of the best KOF themes ever. Lastly, I rather like the way Kyo and Iori were presented in the NESTS saga and have absolutely loved their development since then. In short, the NESTS saga had a lot of good... but it also had a lot of crap. Crappy gameplay, crappy characters, crappy designs, crappy bosses, and crappy, disjointed plots. Too much crap which ultimately made it an inferior saga. I actually think 2k2UM and XI are probably the best KOFs post-Orochi saga, but for my money the best KOF ever is '98UM.

The canon story was that Chris, Shermie, Yashiro beat the Sports Team (Lucky, Heavy D, and Brian) and took their tournament spot.

It's a running gag, the US Sports Team always have their tournament spots stolen by Team Yagami (consisting of Iori, Eiji, and Billy) in '95, the South Town Bad Guys (Geese, Krauser, and Mr. Big) in '96, and CYS (Chris, Yashiro, and Shermie, who are secretly three of the four Devas of Orochi with the fourth being Goenitz) in '97. Heck, they don't even get a chance at the tournament when they hear news of the criminal organization named "NESTS".

@mcanime2012 Respecto a lo de Goenitz...El junto con el Orochi Team son el grupo denominado "Los 4 Reyes Celestiales de Orochi" (Shiten Ou en japones), que son los miembros mas fuertes de las 8 cabezas de Orochi...Basicamente ellos buscan conseguir el sello de Orochi y posteriormente liberarlo...Ellos tienen control sobre los elementos y algunas de las habilidades de Orochi. Adicinalmente pueden activar el Chi no Bouso en aquellos que son suceptibles a el...Espero haber aclarado tu duda ^^

@sveketatu En efecto son 8 cabezas, de las cuales 4 corresponden a los Reyes celestiales (Goenitz, Yashiro, Shermie y Chris), mientras que las 4 restantes corresponden a Yamazaki, Mature, Vice y Gaidel...En si, esta edicion de KOF98 segun tengo entendido fue para conmemorar el 10 aniversario del KOF98 original. Espero esto sea de utilidad para despejar tus dudas :D

@boygolden75 Bueno, siendo ese el tema, basicamente en cuanto a personajes "ocultos" no existe en este juego del todo, quiza los EX Characters, y los bosses puedan contar como de algun modo, pero no existen personajes ocultos como tal...en cuanto a los nombres..."Dream Match Never Ends" es el titulo con el que se conocio en Japon, en America (y creo que en Europa) se le llamo "The Slugfest", pero fuera de eso no representan mayores diferencias...Espero esto haya aclarado tus dudas :D

@mrlocos23 Tenia entendido, y segun habia leido, es el resultado de un error en la programación, en realidad Leona debio hacer lo mismo que con Kensou. Creo yo, que le dice ``No puedes ganar´´ a uno de sus compañeros (Ralf si no me equivoco) pero en realidad debia saludar con respeto como pasa con Chang, basicamente se invirtio ello en el sistema o algo parecido.

+Kyo Xtylee Es que ese dialogo es uno de los principales que dice cada vez que se enfrenta a cualquier peleador como en la del 96. Por eso no lo tradujo ya que no es importante. La traducción es Now... pray to your god.
