Thanks! I use a Korg SP-170S, but I route it through the Addictive Keys Studio Grand vst (my own preset), so the sound you're hearing is not the native sound of the instrument.

How did you learn to improvise, and who were you inspired by? I know my improvisation story is quite a long one. Anyways, I also want to compliment you on your improvising too. Sometimes I hear a bit of Kyle Landry's style in there.

Thank you! I was mainly self-taught improvisation, though I did take a few classes on it when I was in Guildhall in London. There are a few great improvisers on KZbin that I really like. One amazing classical improviser goes by the name "Tartarov"; if you look up his improvisations you'll be blown away.

If you would like to know a little more about me, I first began to improvise by watching Kyle Landry's videos and Akmigone's videos (KZbin). They blew me away by the sheer amount of virtuosity put into each cover. I then started practising some of Kyle Landry's sheets because he was my inspiration. A year later, I discovered Theishter's channel, and realized the beauty of structuring an arrangement. I discovered that balancing technical elements and creating dramatic contrasts makes the music give a more meaningful message. After doing some very basic playing by ear, I decided to start studying his arrangements, to understand how he came up with certain effects. This year marks my second year of playing by ear, and I just created a KZbin channel. I also create improvisations on KZbin, so I hope you will also enjoy my videos. I am certainly going to be eagerly awaiting for your improvisations in the future +1 sub :D

Hi, I just found your site. Nice job on this improv! You are so right that the masters of old were just jamming .. .and now we treat those scores as absolute. . . You play great and interpret melodies really well. I will explore more for sure. i also play and compose for piano, pipe organ and other things and invite you to visit Jeffreyhartmannmusic.com if you like. All of my comps start as snippets / improvs that i just play with for a while in my mind and then they are done. .. some just happen in the moment .. . some to be scored or just recorded . .. and you? have a great creative day . . .best. . . jeff. .. i subbed you
