This was a perfect song for Longs Peak.......the King of Northern Colorado! He towers over all of us, and is there to always remind us to be strong and unyielding to any adversities we may encounter in life! Great job with the lyrics and choice of clips. Loved it!!!!

In 1969 I was living in Boulder. With two seasons of climbing behind me I wanted to try Long's east face. I had an opportunity to go to Woodstock with a group of friends but opted for the Diamond instead. My climbing partner, we were a team of two, and me humped our heavy load (pitons in those days} to the Chasm Lake shelter. Spent the night then up to Broadway via North Chimney and spent another night. Climbed the Diamond via D7 the next day. We descended the cables in a storm and got to the parking lot well after dark. I'll never forget it, my first alpine wall. I went on to other mountain ranges but the Estes, Long's, Lumpy Ridge Area was a climber's paradise. I climbed the Diamond several more times but none more memorable than '69. By the way we didn't see a soul during that three days. Reall y nice video; brings back good memories.

This got me choked up since just today I accepted a job in Yakima, WA after having been in FOCO since 2012. Climbed Longs that first summer of 2012, staying in the Boulderfield the night before. I'll miss that King standing tall over all horizons of the town I so loved, FOCO.

Our family has had a cabin and land that shares a boundary with the park at the foot of Longs for over 100 years, since before it was a park. This is a special place.

Oh wow brother, this is really moving! Gave me goosebumps! Excellent job on the lyrics. I hope someday I can attempt this hike/climb. When I visited in August, I did Bierstadt Lake via the Bierstadt Trailhead. So many switchbacks, but I did it! Loved to see the views of Sprague and other areas as I had never seen them before. Thanks for another great video!
