I think this is their best song, better than “You Really Got Me.” Pure rock.

Years ago when I was just a kid this song came out. I thought the raunchiest , most vile , savage song I've ever heard. I love it so much.

I can imagine Robby Krieger seeing this and then writing ‘Hello I Love You’. Both great songs!

Yes. It must have been awkward/weird for these bands to go on TV and pretend to be playing/singing. I would think even for the audience would have been awkward watching it.

Don't forget The Yardbirds - Lots of garage bands copied their "I'm a Man" hard rock sound.

@sydmccreath4554 1964, 1965 - What's the difference, but if we must be precise: My Generation & I'm A Man released in '65, All Day All Night in '64, but then, 5 Live Yardbirds with Clapton instead of Beck came out in '64 = I'd say Beck version was harder, so that means Kinks win ... Sure, It all depends on this & that, but all 3 bands played hard live & there's not much to go on, but overall, I'd say the Who were the hardest ...Anyhow, I wasn't there & I wish I had a time machine.

I like this version much better than that crappy inaccurate version on that stupid version American Dreams by Dick(aka Dickhead Clark). I bet the Kinks themselves and their children would be offended by the American Dreams version by some shitty band.
