Could it be possible that because the star players are missing more regular season games, it is giving the role players more opportunities to develop because teams aren't relying on their lead guys to carry them as much. This leads to these #4-8 players on rosters getting more skilled, which leads to more players on the bench being able to play at a high level. Not saying it's the main reason for the skill jump but maybe it could play a factor. Also teams are just way better at developing young guys nowadays.

@LUCKIPUP

that definitely plays into it, i think it just comes down to load management. There’s been a similar logic shift to baseball managers pulling pitchers out of games, managers dont leave in pitchers anymore, even when they are about to throw a perfect game, its all about load management now.
@LUCKIPUP
@LUCKIPUP Жыл бұрын
also just success in the playoffs comes with being healthy and to be healthy consistently year in and year out, you have to load manage. theres not a single team in history that won with all their star players out, usually thats when the series takes a turn for the worse for whichever team is dealing with injury

I just don’t see how Low can say Kobe is “top 5 eye test” and had better playoff competition “by a large margin” than Bron and MJ, but yet also says Kobe is the most overrated in the Top 10. At what point do we take skill/quality of opponents into account? If a player is great and went through harder competition consistently, I have to give extra points for that.

Why do people act like 1996-1999 shaq is the same guy as 2000 shaq who was at this point at his peak under the recently hired phil Jackson? The difference between 1999 and 2000 kobe wasnt huge. Kobe didnt take a huge jump until 2001. The difference between 1999 and 2000 was the hiring of phil Jackson and the impact he had on shaq the first 2-3 years coaching him.

I love when people say “MJ said he would do worse vs zone” not knowing he thought the zone that would be introduced would have no defensive three seconds Also, there was still hand-checking the year zone was implemented. We’re talking about today’s game where there is defensive three seconds, handchecking has been reduced and with the influx of threes spacing the floor Jordan would average 35+ easy.

He won a league MVP and finished second the year before in MVP voting won the rebounding title and the blocks title 2x all NBA first team defense and averaged 18-15-7 as the center during his championship run with Portland his peak was that of an all-time great and was a valuable contributor on the 86 Celtics and 6th man of the year was one of the greatest college basketball players ever that is why he’s in the Hall of Fame. If it wasn’t for injuries, he would be one of the 10 greatest centers of all time. @@ralphdadon3026 then how come Steph and Klay couldn't win a ring until Draymond became a starter a core of the Big 3? Steph, Klay, and Draymond are tied to each other when it comes to the current Warriors Dynasty and that will never changem

27:28 Yes they do they bring it up all the time when mentioning his name what are we talking about. For years all I heard was that the all time scoring record was the most untouchable record in the history of the game

Jordan playing baseball was also a business deal. He made money off that merch too. To walk away from 3 rings in a row in still crazy to me but it’s more to that shit for sure

15:50 so glad that LOW and Fluent debunked the narrative that the expansion diluted the NBA in the 90s. Such a myth

1:16:04 I hate how all these players are getting all these front office cache based on one or two post season runs of their careers. Trae Young had one decent post season and now he thinks he is some big shot player. He was TERRIBLE last season the playoffs. And then he is going to fire the coach but not hold himself accountable and be a better player? Yeah okay.
