Thank you for that. These days every TV show, movie, or book about the Templars, and all other orders are complete nonsense. The Templars were a real order that is pretty well documented, but the majority of Americans think that they were a secret society that went under ground for centuries, and reemerged as the masons. It's ridiculous.

Barbara Frale works at the Vatican archives and some years ago discovered documents in the archives. Those documents were the lost trial proceedings of the Templars. It really sheds light on how the king of France got away with what he did. It also shows that the Vatican had found the Templars innocent. The book is called ' The Templars the secret history revealed'. Its a great read for all those Templar fans. Great video as always.

Have the seen the historical TV show called "Knightfall". There are two great seasons of good dialogue and story with even great sword fighting and coordinated group fighting... It's not entirely fiction but it's based on the fall of the templar knights.

The remaining templers fleed to Portugal, were the King was also a Templer, there they created the Order of Christ that also had an red Cross on withe background. Wille denouncing the templers the Pope confiscated the in Rome remaining templer treasuries. Waht the Pope would later on release back to the order of Crist (Templers) they than as a form of Thanking the Portuguese King invested these money to build an Portuguese fleet, in witch every boat has the Templer simbol on his sail. Later on these style became popular in the Portuguese navy and they kept it. This is my information, but you can korrekt me on that.

The king of Portugal can't have been a templar because the Templars were being hunted everywhere in europe. The pope ordered the imprisonment of all Templars. They most likely fled to Scotland which was fighting for independence at the time. The rossyln chapel in Scotland has the true symbol of the Templars which is not the red cross.

​@@kiwilad1361I've never seen any evidence that he was a Templar himself, but most books I've read do agree that Denis I, King of Portugal refused to persecute templars within his territories and with both Pope Clement V and King Philip IV dead before the end of the year, followed by 2 years without a pope due to Cardinal squabbling, no one really pushed the issue. He formed the Order of Christ in 7 years later in 1319, after things pretty much died down. Some monarchs did not believe in the templar's guilt and delayed in their persecution (allowing time to flee), Edward II of England is most notable for this since he negotiated for territory with France and the Pope before begrudgingly, and some would say half-assedly, complying.

A long while back you did a video on the Order Of The Dragon and it's most (in)famous member, Vlad Tepes. The alternate history I'd like you to look into and do a video on (if you have the time) is on this subject: What if Vlad Tepes won? What if, either because the allies he was trying to appeal to for aid were more willing to help him instead of making secret deals/treaties with the Turks, or some other reason, Vlad Tepes Dracula, Voivode of Wallachia, member of the Order Of The Dragon, managed to WIN the war he waged against the Ottoman Empire, and defeat Mehmet II once and for all? Was King Philip IV the actual source of the Baphomet symbol as the alleged deity of Knights Templars in his false accusation of heresy against them?

My dad was an descendant of the first line ( which still has descendants) but the 2nd line died out with the martyrdom of Conrad who was only 16 years old and left no heirs. but only the first line from the kings of Jerusalem such as Fauk V are the true line Yes we do still exist, sadly no longer knights though
