Add beauty to your craft space with a Cocobolo hardwood yarn swift. Renowned for its rich color and dramatic contrasting grain, Cocobolo hardwood makes a luxurious yarn swift with smooth rotation, lightly textured flat spokes, and exceptional strength. This gorgeous wood features a large range of colors naturally, creating a yarn swift that evokes the same beauty of variegated yarn. To complement the natural red tones of Cocobolo hardwood, subdued brick red ties join the top and bottom of the spokes of the umbrella to create flexible connections, and to secure the swift in place, sturdy, brass-colored screw clamps add an elegant touch but remain practical, with a plastic cap on the end of each to protect wood surfaces when screwed tight.
To use the Cocobolo hardwood yarn swift, simply clamp the swift onto a table using the lower screw to begin. Next, starting with the umbrella in the down position, place the open loop of the hank over the swift, and pull it lightly so the far side of the hank is against the center of the umbrella. Then, use your free hand to slide up the umbrella clamp and open the umbrella to snuggly fit the circumference of the hank. Finally, secure the umbrella clamp in place using the screw clamp, and you’re ready to wind your yarn either by hand or with a ball winder!
Measures approx. 26" (66cm) in diameter (68"/173cm circumference) and 26" (66cm) tall when open. Clamp opening fits tables up to 1 1/2" thick.
Note: We recommend preparing your swift for its first use by wiping down the wood spokes with a damp cloth as the oily finish that provides smooth rotation can transfer in shipping.
