What are you knitting, you ask? I live in the U.S. Since it's 2024 (if you know, you know) I have been stress-knitting a flock of Emotional Support Chickens. I'm on my 8th one. Yep, can't stop.

Hi Leanne, thanks for another wonderful visit. I lived in Guelph, ON for 3 years and loved the St. Jacobs market. Looking forward to that visit. Finishing up fingerless mittens for my daughter's birthday - a hybrid of 3 patterns. Using Scheepjes stonewash, cotton acrylic blend due to wool sensitivity. So slippery but worth it. My hubby's Star Trek colourwork mittens are blocked and ready for gifting. To keep them for finding out their gifts, I'm on a brioche kick of the Highway cowl and hat by Made by Tollow with stash from a local alpaca farm (Turtle Mountain) and indy dyer (Fireweeed Fibre). The strike must be really hurting the small businesses right now. The dyers that flew to Ottawa and sent via 3rd party couriers are dedicated!

Thanks Leanne. 😊 Your lovely episode has warmed my heart as I sat and watched this afternoon...now evening. Hot weather here in Auckland NZ, so I'm knitting lots of small projects. A shawl, a bolero for a granddaughter, an Italian Summer Scarf, a Hudson ripple hat, a Radvent Throw using scrap leftover yarns in lieu of a purchased Advent set, and another scrappy long term blanket project are what's on my needles at the moment 😀

Wonderful to see you hope you are feeling better. Thank you for the Knitting Circle, I think it will be a wonderful way for me, a self taught knitter to learn more, and the recommendation of Mandarine's, she is lovely. I hope you make the bear anyway, it is really cute! Right now I'm in between projects, but am thinking of casting on Katt Weaver's Unarmoured Defence Cowl.

We go to St. Jacobs every year in November/December. It was a tradition that we started with my mom, sis and grandma. My grandma has since passed away but we try to carry the tradition on. We just went a couple weeks ago and the farmers market was packed this year! The line up for the apple fritters was out the door.

Hey Leanne! Wow look at you powering through having been ill. I hope you went to sit down and get cozy and knit or crochet after. I am in for all the greens, bring them on! I was spinning (until my husband wanted to go to sleep) so currently working on socks and a cowl from March using a stash advent swap I received. But you gave me an idea for a new cast on, so now down a hole I go to see if it will work out. Thanks for the chat and all the goodness.

Hi Leanne: Was just in Waterloo at a craft fair, that didn't meet my needs. Since I had driven 1.5 hrs to get there I decided to visit Galt House Of Yarn for the first time, a lovely shop hope you have a chance to visit. The farmer's market is definitely worth a visit. Thank you for introducing me to the Flying Squirrel, I will add it to the list of shops to visit. I love making socks, toe up is my go method and ALWAYS magic loop. I am in full gift knit mode, headband and hats, with a pair of socks 85% complete. Happy knitting. The other Wendy

Hey Leanne! Thanks for powering through a cold to show us all the beautiful knits and crochet projects! I’m working on a scrappy blanket that takes 3 strands of fingering weight yarn at a time and you just knit 2 or 3 panels of these multi colored garter stitch pieces of art , then seam together into a blanket. Joji’s pattern. Uses up a ton of scraps and is super squishy and colorful. Merriest of Christmas’s to you and your family ❤

You can get puffy fabric paint at some place like Michael’s. The paint comes in a small squeezy bottle. Then put dots on the sole of the loafers to prevent slippyness.

Hi Leanne! Thank you for filming despite your cough! I really look forward to your podcasts and I enjoyed the kitties immensely. Dave's socks look great, cat approved. I'm finishing up socks for my sister for Christmas and amending a hat I recently knit called the Salty Dog by Jessica L'Heureux. I'm picking up the cast-on edge and knitting a stockinette liner in orange so it can be worn inside out for woods walking during hunting season. Fun knit, I inherited it as it came out too small for my husband even though I'm a loose knitter too!. I hope you have a lovely Christmas time and start to feel better very soon.

Leanne you and I are on the same green train 💚 I just Rit dyed four of my previous knits, one cardigan, one sweater, and two summer tops Apple Green. Haha I may have overdone it 😂 They all started out different shades of light grey/blues so I thought they would turn out different, but not so much 😂. Anyway I love them all! I have had better results with my floats when I turn my knitting inside out to knit, it just makes the path the floats travel a bit longer and therefore looser :) For your kitty stockings you could use the cat 🐈 images from your new book 😻😻 Hoping you feel better soon and all your packages get to you, take care💓

I'm considering knitting the Merrymint sweater by Ontario's Natalie Sheldon as a yearlong "advent" knit in 2025. I'm thinking I'll use that Filcolana Arwetta....I'll do a test swatch first to see how I like it for colour-work. I hope it looks nice, as there are so many beautiful colours, and I'll need alot of colours. And, of course, it will mean a visit to Galt House of Yarn ❤😊

Ooh, I love those little flat bears - I saw the episode of Mandarines where she was re-making one for her kiddo. I was so incredibly lucky yesterday because I was able to attend my friend as she gave birth to her new baby girl. I’d given her a small gift for her baby, but wanted to wait until after the baby was born to knit something special, and I think this will why I make her.

And I’ve also made two felted oven mitts, two pairs of fingerless mittens (the Maine Morning Mitts - such a great pattern), and have plans for a pair of colorwork mittens for my sister. Great knits!!! You are so inspiring, thank you for sharing! I am just about done knitting a test knit vest for Leslie Friend, A Friend to Knit With. In my stash, I had some yarn that my Aunt gave me before she passed. So I really wanted to use it for the test knit. Well, I did not enjoy knitting with that yarn but I am determined to finish it and where it. Loved the color blue, but it is very heavy and not very soft. Also it’s always twisted up. Who knows how old this yarn is! But I think I will like the finished vest. Feel better and safe travels!
