Usually I don’t overthink these stories but the potential analogy with Ai technology is uncanny.

Still not crediting the librivox readers, huh? I hope you at least donate a little bit of what you make off volunteers back towards the project they volunteer for.

That was great ! It's this kind of stories that put the Gold in Golden Age, not taken seriously back and now eerily prophetic. Edmond Hamilton wrote early Space Opera like The Starkings. Also the novel, City At World's End, and many short stories. Thank you, Newth!🪐

This short story is allegorical to your channel.. You scan all the cool info from these old magazines and then using electronics , such as my laptop, the information is transfered to my brain.

The reboot of the outer limits did a variation of this story called Stream of Consciousness about society in the future where everyone has a chip that connects us to a huge network. If a self-aware virus does not intervene and mess things up I think something like this will happen but I hope with beneficial results. Ray Kurzweil says the Singularity is near. I am 70 and might see it in its infancy. My grandchildren will live it.

Is it just me, or does this remind you of a certain scene in The Matrix? 🥋

I wonder if this is where they got the idea for "Joe 90". They take brain scans of people and put them into the brain of this little boy so he can perform complex missions. It's a puppet / supermarionation show made by the same guy that did Thunderbirds

What a maroon the guy in the story is! Lol

ma·roon adjective Of a brownish-crimson color. You must have meant moron. I know it's just a simple spelling mistake, but you're still a maroon.
@johnnybgoode7983 Жыл бұрын
@@Michelle-Eden I meant it as in bugs bunny's "what a maroon!" Lol

You must read or listen to Isaac Asimov's "Profession" after this one!
