It wouldn't have matter even if they were cool. Shaq wanted money, Lakers weren't going to give it to him, he left, end of story. They wanted to win. They wanted to play to win, not for friendship. Ppl forget the money situation.

Tevin McCray Even That plays into this. Kobe disliked Shaq because he was lazy and didn’t practice. If Shaq wasn’t lazy his prime would’ve lasted longer and the Lakers would’ve ended up paying him.

Definitely not. If Shaq had Iverson he could have won the same amount of titles. What other C of that time could Kobe win multiple titles with?
@paoerfulone10897 жыл бұрын
I meant more in terms of overall career. Kobe was able to win two more rings without Shaq, with his backup being Pau Gasol. Plus, it's no coincidence that Shaq finally started winning when Kobe ascended to the level of Superstar. And if we're talking about other Cs or big men, you don't think Kobe and Tim Duncan together could've won multiple championships?
@omieg897 жыл бұрын
PAOerful One Shaq and Kobe needed each other but Shaq during that 8 year stretch with the Lakers could have won titles with a healthy Grant Hill, T-MAC, Iverson. Shaq only had two more prime years left when he left Lakers and he proved he could be the center piece to a title team in Miami. Don't forget Shaq had success in Orlando and was the only team to beat MJ in a series in the 90s. Kobes first 8 years were spent with Shaq and other great veterans helping him come along. Kobe is a legend in his own sense. That guy kept coming and coming and did end up with more rings overall than Shaq. Much respect to both.
@royalmcmorris12116 жыл бұрын

Sorry dude your high .. I'm going to say this to you take both players at 25 and you had to trade one I'm telling you there's no way the Lakers would have traded Shaquille there was a 6/7 year span he was unstoppable. And to sum up how selfish Kobe Bryant was when he scored 60 in his last game. The point he wasn't friends with Shaquille, he wasn't friends with not one player on those championships teams.

Shaq had these same problems with Penny bout who was the man on the team and never won the chip but won 3 straight with Kobe AND let wade be wade on the Heat's first championship so really that tells you something, also the only problem I had with Kobe was the interview when he bashed Shaq
@MrBiggin496 жыл бұрын
What are you 14. To make that point about Penny Hardaway it tells me you know nothing about basketball. He left because those guys couldn't deliver to help him win a championship that's why they got swept By the Houston Rockets grow up!
@owainkanaway83455 жыл бұрын
Shaq left because of ego, Penny was blossoming into a superstar before the injuries happened. Do you remember when Shaq injured his thumb in the beginning of the 95-96 season and had to sit out for 22 games? Penny took control of that team, Orlando went 17-5 and Penny was averaging 27.0 points, 6.5 assists, 5.8 rebounds, 2.2 steals, and 1 block per game. Orlando even had a win over Jordan and the Bulls. At times Orlando looked better without Shaq. Orlando lost to Houston because they were inexperienced and not just the players, but also their head coach. Shaq and Penny did not like Brian Hill because he did not play in the NBA and he was just not a good coach. None the less had Shaq just stayed in Orlando, him and Penny would have eventually won a championship. Remember when Shaq first went to LA, he went to a weaker team.
@mauricedavis17402 жыл бұрын
shaq left because Orlando wasn’t willing to pay him what the lakers paid him and that’s a fact. Everything else is just speculation..

Ask the question how many friends did Kobe Bryant have on those championship teams. Not one. He didn't hang out with them he didn't eat dinner with them. It was a times he had a separate locker room because he didn't get along with the other players. He will go down as one of the top 10 greatest players ever. And he will go down as one of most selfish player to play basketball. and I say this you take to Shaquille at 25, you take Kobe at 25. you had to trade one I'm telling you you're not trading Shaquille.

Wich means shaq was the best player in the finals not u kobe...no nba fans notice shaq out of shape we notice shaq as a beast always so i think it was unfair for kobe to say he wasnt workin hard on practice ..seems more like kobe ego and jelousy got in the way more than anything...and hey shaq can argue about the way kobe use to think but seems like shaq just want to move on and let kobe think he was right ....really kobe the guy is ready to get the ball and u dont want to feed him?..how about saying let me give him the ball to make him work in the games sp i get this guy ready for the playoffs!...stop it kobe!
