What a horrible diagnosis yet what a huge blessing to have so many people love you. Love is an action and helping someone in need is an action.

My heart goes out to the Kofstad family. We at Pacific will miss her so very much. She always asked me how I was doing in a way that made me feel like she really wanted to know the answer. And no matter how many people were in the office or what chaos there was, she always asked after my children. We had many short but intense conversations and I am grateful to have known her.

Gosh I began with ALS the same way. But have it now over 2 yrs and still use arms and hands and still talk and eat just fine. I am very obese and doctor tells me to try to gain weight. My weight seems to be slowing it down.

ALS is so similar to neural tube defects in babies, one has to wonder if a folate deficiency isn't perhaps lurking in the shadows.
