Growing up The kooks helped me through alot of rough times, their music has always been a massive influence in my life and I've always admired the lyrics and emotion in their songs. Recently their music has changed quite alot and I wasn't overly keen but this beautiful song brought back my love for the kooks! Meeting Luke in 2011 still gives me shivers, your an awesome guy, keep doing what your doing because I'm sure your dad is overly proud of you!

Lyrics: Well I've been a lot places, I learned to tie my own tie too, I've met a lot of faces, I've got some questions I'd like to ask you. If you could see me now, If you could see my smile, See your little boy, Oh, would you be proud? I've been in sticky situations, I fell in love with a girl who likes girls, I know mom's thinking of you, I'm busy trying to make it in this world, I hope I'm living your dream, daddy Have a drink on me upstairs If you could see me now, If you could see my smile, See your little boy, Oh, would you be proud? [x4] Well I've been a lot places, I learned to tie my own tie too.

Fantastic piece. I lost my Pops at 12. Life goes on, one learns to be happy again with time, but a part of one's self is always lost forever when someone dear goes. I heard this song for the first time at one of their shows in New York last year, more than 9000 miles from home, at the age of 27. What a beautiful, sad, meaningful experience.

Hermosa, Luke. Beautiful, Luke. Here's a song whose quality is be inspiring, profound and propulsive of the most varied and sweet feelings, but do not fall into the cliche of the collective curiosity in which the only thing that stand out is why he wrote it too. Such songs can easily lose their meaning against the person or why they were written, but in this case only makes it more special than it already was. Congratulations, you really saved me and you are the artists where I have more faith. I love you and sorry for my english.
