I can agree with some of this specially on the minors. The rose top one sure the stylist should have added some things to help stay up even if the clasp breaks, but they're also rushed to make these outfits and count on the clasp working from the get go. Which that is one that happens in USA too so can't fault her there. For jennie I feel like she's comfortable with it and her stylist knows it and plans for it. As for the shirt stuff with sayings in so e cases yes they should know but others nope. Like chaeyoung q shirt even alot of Americans don't even know so don't expect a korean stylist to know it. One thing I do like with some stylist is when they dye the safety shorts to match the skirt.
@beckyl3852 Жыл бұрын
I don’t expect the Korean stylists to know about the meaning behind the q shirt, but if they are putting her in a shirt with a symbol on it they should research the symbol to make sure it isn’t something bad. Especially if twice is promoting to a global audience they need to make sure they are being respectful
@MHC-1 Жыл бұрын
I am glad you addressed this and especially with the emphasis on being a minor. How minors dress and adults dress should be different, it may not seem "fair", but minors don't always accept the consequences of their action. In this case, it is up to the stylist to use rationale thinking. When adults wear risque clothing, the only one to blame is the adult (not talking about Idols working in this industry). Minors, it is chalked up to them not knowing better, even though most do. It is laid at the parent's feet of responsibility. Minors watching these performances and the outfits being worn, can embolden the minors to dress this way. They are simply not old enough, and it often brings about unwanted attention, and even more so these days, dangerous attention. Not to mention discomfort while performing.

Mistakes happen to everyone, and not everyone can get everything right and perfect 100% of the time. It was probably the garment itself rather than the stylist who chose it. i agree with the part where minors shouldn't be wearing revealing stuff, and also the part where stylists should do research about certain phrases/symbols etc before having an idol wear them. but the part about jennie doesn't really make sense. jennie likes revealing clothes, it's possible she chose that skirt herself, or even if she didn't, she was probably fine with it. she didn't seem uncomfortable with it at all during that concert. i think people overreact a little too quickly sometimes with these GROWN WOMEN'S outfits. they immediately assume they're being forced to wear those or something and never consider the possibility that maybe they just like showing some skin. don't get me wrong though, i'm not saying there hasn't been any scenarios where idols were forced to wear immodest clothes, because there definitely has been. but sometimes, i think people just jump to conclusions far too quickly.

Is so ignorant to blame the stylist, like the artist has no say on what to wear. Come on!! They know what they're wearing and how much they're showing. It is good to consider the culture but not to think having cornrows or braids which should not ofend anybody since it's been used in so many cultures that it can be assigned to a certain group of people. I do agree with finding out what the phrases in clothing mean before waering it.

I don't mind any of the girls wearing short skirts, it's just that the skirts are way to short and people are easily able to take inappropriate pictures from almost all angles, even unintentionally when taking videos from the concert seats up front, plus the safety shorts don't help since they don't even cover anymore than a regular underwear would, The other problem is that the safety short is showing through the skirt even as short as it is meaning that the skirt is wayyy to short and it just looks kind of bad( no offense)

I don’t understand people saying “ they’re grown ups, let them where what they want, it’s their choice.” Like dude, we respect all of that, everyone has the freedom to choose what he wants to wear. But this is TOO MUCH, if your safety short is the only visible thing and the only thing that covers you, what’s the point of wearing anything else above it? outfits play an important role in making the show more fascinating, wearing a piece of fabric above the safety short is not an outfit, this is like half naked. Anyways the look of a black safety short sticking out is not beautiful. Like why give the Idol a short outfit when this thing will appear so obviously under it. This needs to stop, idols should wear something more special, protecting and appropriate.

most of the points in this video are valid and i agree, like how minors are styled and cultural insensitivity but uh.. when u criticize grown women for just, like, wearing a mini skirt.. that’s just plain misogyny in my opinion. it’s clear that jennie just likes to dress like that and there isn’t anything wrong with that. u shouldn’t infantilize them or assume that they’re “uncomfortable” just because YOU are. i never see people act this way about western artists like ariana grande or doja cat or anyone else.. it’s weird. let women wear what they want idk why it has to be repeated so many times. 😒
@istvanlux7168 Жыл бұрын
Why is it a problem for an adult woman whose thighs stick out? Are you a nun? If your eyes hurt, don't go to the concert! The situation is different for minors. Although here too, it is necessary to distinguish where it occurs. In Europe, at the age of 18, you are of age, you can drink and party. There is a lot of competition in the k-pop industry, so agencies do everything they can to make their idols stand out. Otherwise, go to a Miley Cyrus concert and then comment on how the Korean entertainers dress!

Bro why are u bringing up corn rows and braids ? 💀 It’s not about culture, that’s a hairstyle that anyone in the world can wear, even kpop idols. Stop normalising them not being able to wear that if they want to 💀 I’m so sick and tired of Americans acting like that’s cultural appropriation when it’s the complete opposite and most Africans from Africa and not America don’t have anything against other races wearing hair styles from their “culture”. Also I have worn bindi’s a lot of times for a costume and never got any comments about it from Indians, cause I don’t live in America 💀

Don’t act stupid like you don’t know why cultural appropriation can be a problem, it’s not about sharing of cultures cause it’s human nature to be curious about different cultures from style to food to their way of life but if you hate dislike prejudice bigoted or racist towards a certain group of people and don’t respect them all but want to appropriate their culture but at the same time want them to respect yours that’s a problem cause that’s how a lot of cultures are towards black people but love to appropriate black culture at the same time so again don’t act dumb like you don’t know this

Stylists do need to step up, but so do the companies hiring them. If the same stylists are constantly making bad decisions, it's completely on the company to actually care and do something about it. Whether that's warning them to do better, or they've been warned so then you replace them. Lots of people are misstepping with these issues.
