My wife saw I had a tattered wallet I carried with me since I served overseas. Within the first month she had bought me a Coach wallet. On top of that, when I started back with school, I came home to a basket filled to the brim with school supplies. They were sorted so nice for me I almost lost my nerve! Could care less they came from Dollar Tree. Highlighters, a TI calculator, 5 subject notebooks. All it takes is effort. And yes my wife is blackety black black.

The last topic hit home...my parents, my father was a provider to the T. My mother still to today is a traditional wife/woman, they're both retired now. My dad built a house with his hands, and a few buddies from ground up, the house is worth over 400k(in sc) today when in the early 2000s, it cost my pops 70k to build. I'll never forget the day my mother said, "if I want ur Dad to do something, he'll do it" lol. But she meant it by being submissive, which I later learned.

Love the podcast, but I think you guys should look at statistics of the black women who have actually had decent male figures in their lives. Men who they can depend on to actually be there for them in any time of need. Black women are deprived of love, affection and decent treatment and are raised to act hard like men. Father’s aren’t present, even when they’re in the same household and brothers usually pay no mind to what their sisters are doing unless the disrespect is directly in their face. It was just a bit one sided in my opinion. I feel like you guys spoke on the minority, because we got a lot of girls with “daddy issues”.

I do not know the stats but, I know lots of women that have brothers, cousins, uncles that would help in cases where a guy gets out of line (I grew up in the hood). I've went to school with dozens of dudes that either went to prison for killing a relatives boyfriend or killed by a girlfriends relative after a physical dispute (lots of times the woman was the aggressor but she doesn't mention it). It's why I always tell younger dudes to walk away even if it was her that started it. The relatives do not care who started it but, they will end it. I do not know many women at all that does not have a single male relative that would hold them down (in any capacity).
