In the interest of taking care of parents. It’s a conversation that should happen in dating. That way both can agree that this is a responsibility we are structuring into the relationship. As for the man who complained with the Lack sexual engagement with his wife. A husband sets the tone and in my eyes a man who can not stand in the role of provision, is mute.‼️

I love that Kevin Gates talks about mental health of black men, especially as a black man that’s been incarcerated. I feel like that’s the main downfall for black men in our society, their lack of expressing emotion and not having safe spaces to do so. Beam community has great resources that explore mental health and black masculinity. Great pod as always guys!!!! ❤️🔥🔥

She doesn't want more kids and she may have resentment that he gets to stay home while she works her but off. Yes, women want the help at home but we rather you work and be the bread winner. I agree with Kenny about the men there for their kids being more important than the kids seeing their father work (around 32:50). I can see, how the type of women that are spoken about, choose financial comfortable over the emotional support from a father for their kids. But it does feel like the “city girl” or money focus women that seem to be the constant perspective in these episodes, aren’t the everyday women (most women). I can see how that can be your reality if that’s the women in the setting you choose to be in. It just sucks since a lot of the generalized opinions made about women don’t represent the way I and most women would move (in my settings). I get that some women are birds (the same way some guys are too). It just seems like the women that are generalized aren’t most women. Love the pod-keep up the dope conversations.

It's still residue from being enslaved, vulnerability meant death back in the day. Still to this day being vulnerable can get you killed depending on where you live. It's a complex thing to grasp but I just do my part by encouraging black men that I speak to to take up practices such as journaling, meditation, yoga, etc. in the comfort of their own space where no one has to see it.

I wish Trill and Smuv would speak from their point of marriage about being celebrated or appreciated because it almost seems as if they are including themselves when they say that no one uplifts black men. For the issue with the wife working with 4 kids and no longer attracted to her husband....I understand what Kenny is saying. A father can still be valuable without working. However, the issue is that the wife is not attracted. So this may not work for their relationship. I dont think any adult wants to work hard all day and come home to someone who isnt working at all. Of course there are exceptions.

Imagine being the bread winner of your household, with 4 kids to tend to, and YOU don't feel comfortable about yourself. No amount of anything from HIM will make her feel better about herself except her. The question is "what can we do to make you feel more confident so we can be more intimate?"

29:00 I can't entirely agree with you on the perception that house husband's are not getting respect. The tradition of men working and women taking care of the house. But if a women can't be a house wife, there's going be issues regardless. Maybe she needs to sew how it feels when she has to do more. Especially if they have young children and now have to pay for child care and help get them ready.Ppl don't frown upon house husbands as harshly anymore there to many men not in the house or doing nothing. I know women right now with guys who don't work or hardly take care of their kids and nobody talks shit about them after awhile. We just go that's there relationship. Yea it's still frowned upon to be a house husband but ppl rather see you taking care of your family. Not everybody can be the alpha you got play ypur role, know your position. Isn't that what game is? Especially if where saying his wife libido is tied to how masculine she perceive him (why she get with him in the first place) or how tired she is from working. Are we saying he suddenly going turn alpha and support the whole family or is he going work n not make enough and make her more tired from now having to do more around the house.

I forget who said it but i heard someone say, "Would you come up to a fence and just tear it down?". Prob not, so when you see a tradition that had stood for centuries, why do you tear it down without understanding why it was there in the first place. Tradition is the work of your ancestors that had a purpose and its our job to understand why rather than tear it down. Some traditions can be removed but most serve a purpose and werent set up just to look good.
