A rare treat. From a Betamax L-750 tape (recorded in BIII mode), we get an all-too-rare glimpse into local, independent overnight TV. This recording was started sometime around 1 or 2 A.M. and allowed to run uninterrupted for the entire 4 and 1/2 hour duration of the tape. This ran on L.A.'s KTLA-TV in the early-morning hours of June 14, 1984. Of course, I've had to cut out the programming on here due to copyright issues, but all the shows are out on DVD if you're so inclined.
V/O's on station promos and ID's by Ron Boltz (thanks to iamnomad101 for the info).
Yes, I know this is a really, really long video (to say the least). I don't really expect anybody to watch this the whole way through.
Included (in no particular order):
- All station bumpers and ID's
- Far too many Worthington Ford/Dodge commercials to count
- A quasi-infomercial for Craftmatic adjustable beds (in lieu of commercials for a certain chunk of time--you're gonna hate these hosts after awhile)
- A look at the King World syndication of Our Gang/The Little Rascals
- Audio-only newscasts
- Station info
- The best ham commercial you've ever seen
- A few minutes of the best exercise show you've ever seen. ;)
