The KTLA Allnighter (Thurs. 6/14/1984 - Early A.M.)

A rare treat. From a Betamax L-750 tape (recorded in BIII mode), we get an all-too-rare glimpse into local, independent overnight TV. This recording was started sometime around 1 or 2 A.M. and allowed to run uninterrupted for the entire 4 and 1/2 hour duration of the tape. This ran on L.A.'s KTLA-TV in the early-morning hours of June 14, 1984. Of course, I've had to cut out the programming on here due to copyright issues, but all the shows are out on DVD if you're so inclined.
V/O's on station promos and ID's by Ron Boltz (thanks to iamnomad101 for the info).
Yes, I know this is a really, really long video (to say the least). I don't really expect anybody to watch this the whole way through.

Anyone else keep coming back to this? I'll leave this on while doing work at the computer, while i'm in the kitchen or doing housework. There's something oddly relaxing about older commercial breaks, it's not the same as just leaving the TV on.

I agree. I feel live tv is stressful most commercials today are. It is the vibe or something. For me I think it could be due to the idea of this being a time capsule from the “good old days” (especially for people who grew up in this part of the USA) maybe. I was a little kid at this time. I am from the Midwest so LA locations are weird to me lol but I like it anyway! I enjoy these anyway very chill type of vibe
